A portrait attempt

I have been tackling faces for some time now thus my Tackle It Tuesday, My 16 year old daughter has sunflower shapes in her eyes, we have been trying to capture them on camera but with no success. So I decided to try and draw a portrait of her from memory (she was asleep and I didn't want to wake her with my wee morning rantings.) I didn't blend the eyes like I picture them in my mind but I am going to work on it until I get it right.

Here is what I ended up with....

The After Pictures ~ Finally

Well I have finally figured out how to use the new camera program. Took me FOREVER!!! Here is the link when I first listed my Tackle it Tuesday. So here are the BEFORE pictures of the desk. I haven't totally completed the File cabinet (whew it takes hours to file all this stuff) but when I do I will be sure to post the pictures for that as well. Here are the AFTER pictures of the desk though... and the AFTER pictures of the hutch... it feels good to have that much done. Now if I can just KEEP it that way. Pray for me will you please. :-)

I will post the others by Saturday so be sure to check back. I have to get it done cause next Tuesday there will be a new TACKLE!!!

Tackle it Tuesday

Ahhh to tackle another Tuesday.

Here I am in the midst of cleaning up the office.. Eeekks what a dissaster. I am determined that before I lay my head down to sleep and pray the Lord to rescue me. I am going to....

1) clean off the top of my desk.

2) clear off the tops of my printers and shovel off the dust.

3) organize my 'teacher' shelf and prepare an IN and OUT box. (for those papers that have to be graded and then filed)

4) clean off the top of the file cabinet.

I will be sure to post pictures of before and after first thing tomorrow morning (and PLEASE if you don't see the photo's in the morning feel free to hound my until you do. hehe)

I pray each of you that have a tackle it Tuesday, accomplish whatever it is you had to tackle. Have a blessed day and check back tomorrow.

Tackle It Tuesday

Ohh myyyyy! Today my Tackle It Tuesday was SURVIVAL!!

My heart is so heavy with all I want to do. I was sitting here praying and this came to me.....

With cold weather coming we all need new clothes,
the horses need hay and the dogs a warm home.
I wonder around trying to come up with a plan
to squeeze some money from the turnip in my hand.
I pray and ask God what His plans are for me,
I listen quietly as I fall to my knees.

Stand up He said
hold your head HIGH
for I am your Lord
and I will stay at your side.

Continue to do
what you know best
your doing just fine
you have passed the test.

Go cuddle your children,
play with the horses.
The dogs will be fine
their protected from the forces.

What you need
you will get
just don't ever forget
that I am your Lord
all your needs will be met.

This I promise
AMEN

So for any of you out there that feel as I do, trust in the Lord .... He will see you through.

Tackle it Tuesday

Whew I am sitting here at 2:30am, just finished grading papers from last weeks school work and printing school work for this week and it dawned on me that today is Tuesday Oh dear dear me. Looking around the house I see I must tackle that dreaded thing... You know the one.... LAUNDRY! EeekkkI am not really sure how it got away from me again. Could it have been the fact that I was down for the weekend with a migraine??? Yupper, that's what did it. I know I have Laundry on the children's chore chart and each one of them should have done a load or two a day butttttt , I was down with a migraine!  Anyway, that is my tackle for today. To get it caught back up., washed, dried, and put away! I think I can get it done in ohhhh six or eight loads!!! I actually enjoy doing laundry, well folding it anyway. To me that is relaxing. The smell of fresh clean linen, soft and warm... aaahhh perfect for a nice Autumn crisp morning.

I also want to tackle my kitchen hutch and pantry. I want to see what I have as far as canned goods and what more I need to do. Also I would like to see the pantry a bit more organized as far as one shelf for canned foods, the next for boxed foods and so on. It shouldn't be to hard I had it done once.  Then I must teach the children to put things right back where they got them from and when it comes time to help put groceries away, that it goes in the right place. This isn't something I really TAUGHT them so now is the time!

What are you tackling today?

Tackle it Tuesday

Just wanted to share my Tackle it Tuesday with everyone. Between the children and I we managed to do 8 loads of laundry, wash, dry and put away. Ahhh it feels good to have THAT caught up. Then I took about four hours out of the day to write more lesson plans and file some papers and grade some papers. I have one more 'small' stack of papers that need filing and then I will be DONE!! WhooHoo. The office is really coming together.

We also shampoo'd a space rug that we are going to put in our bedroom tomorrow. We still have plywood floors in there and can't afford to do wall to wall carpet now so we are going to use the space rug. I can't wait Thursday because that is the day we are going to PRIMER the walls. Whhoohoooo Yippee Yahhooieee. It is all coming together, I am so enjoying it.

What was YOUR tackle it Tuesday!?

Tackle-it-Tuesday

My tackle for today was to drive an hour and a half one way to the Dr.'s office. I had a visit with my pulmonary Dr. today. Haven't been able to breath well for some time and needed meds figured out and well, it was a trip.

Praise God for a few minutes to think and plan before we left though. It usually costs us an unnecessary fortune to make this trip because the appointments and the drive run into lunch or dinner without a doubt. With today's being at 2:15 and we had errands to run before leaving town it would run into lunch and dinner. Sooo I packed us all a lunch to eat in the car and we stopped for Chineese for my Daughters (16th) birthday dinner. It worked out nicely this way. Thank God cause gas is back up to $2.65

After returning back to our neck of the woods we had to then go to the pharmacy (needed antibiotics and higher dose of prednisone for a bit.. fighting something here) then to the grocery store for tomorrows outing and meals for the rest of the week.

Now we are home, chillin and bloggin and aaahhhh does it feel good.

What did you do today?

Tackle It Tuesday

and boy what a tackle it was.

I had taken my new coloring book 'Counting with our Friends' to the printer last week to have some made up for sales and when I picked it up on Thursday (or it might have been Wednesday) it was all wrong. Somehow the printer didn't grasp what I was trying to do. I wanted the pages combined so that they would fit on an 11 x 17 sheet of paper so that you can center staple them and fold them over into a coloring book. Well when I opened the book to view it ., it was a mess. Page one was followed by an upside down page two and three was followed by page eight. I dunno., it was a mess. So I decided to take the originals and head to Staples to see if I could figure it out and do it myself. Well with the help of the copy/printing clerk and the store manager, after two and a half hours we had it all layed out. WHEW! So I had only five copies made and still have the originals layed out so that I can show the guy at the printers and see if we can't get him to print 100 of them correctly.

Here is what they look like.

Sorry they are a bit dark. Anyway, I am glad it is done with. I will be looking to improve the cover in the near future, like making it a glossy finish or something but for now this is it!

Once we got home from that adventure we had to get ready to take my little man out for his Birthday dinner. He chose Taco bell! A boy after Mama's heart!  Then he had the choice to go bowling, or to a movie. Well he outsmarted us all and asked if he could get a computer game for the amount it would cost us to bowling or to the movies. He said "That way we can play longer" hhehehe so that is what we did., he got a computer game from Walmart.

Happy Birthday Josh! We all love you!

Tackle-it-Tuesday

Well friends instead of me tackling something today I was totally tackled. ARGH!!  I set out to town to pick up some meds that should have been there today and they were not. Tackle number ONE. Then I went to the PO and like a nit wit I locked me keys in the car, with my inhaler and my drink (and it is 98* ourside and I can't breath) and my purse with my cell phone in it. Tackle number TWO. Well I went back into the PO to ask to use their phone to call my children who were at home and ask them to get someones number for me since my cell phone was locked in the car. Well as soon as my daughter answered the phone and heard it was me she starting yelling HELP and proceeded to tell me the kitchen was flooding. She had plunged the sink cause it was clogged and the pipe underneath burst and water was spraying everywhere. Oh my gosh, I couldn't even think straight. I was trying to calm her down and as I looked out the window I saw our cousin drive by so I told Mariah to hurry and call her cell phone to see if she would come back for me and praise God her cell phone was actually on. Mariah continued to tell me that after I left she was going to close the cattle gate and it came off the hinges and she had to put it all back on by herself. Thank God she was able to before the horses realized the gate was open and took off down the road.

Sherry was able to calm Mariah and tell her how to shut the water valve off and then she came back for me. We headed to the house. I don't have another key for this car nor do I have the $125.00 they want to make me another one, but I did have another auto unlock pad at the house, I just wasn't sure where.  I prayed all the way home that I would easily find it. Sherry was willing to take me all the way back to town to get my car if we could hurry., (she had other engagements she had to be at) so we came in and looked for just a few minutes and I was able to find it. THANK YOU AGAIN LORD! We headed back to town and got the car without a problem ... came home and Ahhhhh relief. Then I realized it was after 5pm and DH would be home soon and HUNGRY!! Then I realized I forgot to take the meat out of the freezer. Soooooo as I am writing this and trying to gather myself the meat is thawing and the green peppers are waiting to be stuffed. Gessh what a day!

So my simple Tackle-it-Tuesday which was just supposed to be a simple run into town and then home to finish our Wedding Shadow box so I can give it to my dh, turned into a fiasco of trials. I am praying now that the rest of the day be blessed with peace and tranquility and tomorrow will be a better day!

Hope all of you had a better day.

Blessings,

Tackle It Tuesday

Here is our Tackle it Tuesday

I am so proud of my children for taking the initiative to help eachother and work together. GOD IS REAL.. HE ANSWERS PRAYER.

Here is the before ...

Mind you this is AFTER they had already started in his room. Our hearts are healing through all this purging and if anyone is suffering from bondage like this I recommend the book TOO MUCH STUFF by K. Porter

Here is the after picture we took today., once it was ALL done. Praise God it was only a two day project not like my room that is still in progress!!

and you know... even his closet is cleaned out.

Thank you Lord for all you have done for my children and I, may we continue to purge and organized the home you have given us. AMEN
