My newest craze

I have joined in on a few artist swaps and trying to improve my sketches and things. Here are a few FREESTYLE postcards I mailed out today.

It was for the 080808 postcard swap. It was freestyle meaning an open theme, I tried to use something each person would like according to their profile. It was fun, some didn't turn out anything like I had hoped they would but I AM a work in progress

Goin Mexicana

Well time has drawn nearer to when the girls and I will be camping out with our Girl Scout troop. Ok well, actually camping IN cause we will be in cabins, but I spent some time last night making a few things to decorate the cabin with. I made these two guys to hang on one wall.. Then I made this cactus and have a mexican jumping bean and a Taco man in the making for another wall.  Destiny also drew and painted this guy to put on the third wall.... Now I am just going to make some little mexican paper dolls for the door and some poncho's to hang from the bed posts and we will be done.

I can't wait to get it all hung and start with all the fun.

Girl Scout Camp out

My girls and I are going for an overnight camp out with our Girl Scout troop this weekend and the theme for camp is Mexican Fiesta. We have to decorate our Cabins to go with the theme. I thought, along with the paper mache' cactus and chili red peppers I would go ahead and make these posters for the walls. I started with this little guy... Just to try something new (again) I drew him in my sketchbook and then cut out the sombrero and the rug area and put printed texture designs behind it giving it like a three d effect. Not the greatest turn out but something new none the less. I am now working on a little girl using the same technique.

Please feel free to comment, criticize, make suggestions.

A Mouse a day in the month of May
