Simple Woman's Daybook

Photobucket

Ahhh another Monday. I woke early this morning (around 6am) and wasn't feeling to great so I decided to rest for a few more hours. I woke again at 9m and decided I had better get busy with our chores and lessons, I wanted to get this week off to a good start.  Soooo, lessons are over, the chores are done (with the exception of caring for the horses which the girls are doing now) and now I have time to play. What better way to spend my play time then to update my Simple Woman's Daybook, so here it goes....

Outside My WindowThe sun is shinning, it is about 73* and the view is breathtaking. The colors of Autumn surround me. Golden yellow, firebrick red, cinnamon brown and a hint of green. Ahh God's pallet is so elegant.

I am thinkingabout all the things I have planned for this week. For lessons, artsy stuff, and all the friends I am going to write and catch up with.

I am thankful forall that the Lord helped me to accomplish today. Lessons, cleaning, canning applesauce and the time I spent with my children just talking!

From the kitchen…I can smell the the cinnamon applesauce simmering in the canning pot.

I am wearing…a blue t-shirt with a prairie mouse the front, white and brown diabetic socks, and my black shorts. I really need to get some new clothes:-(

I am creating more cupcakes, some ATC's and a few new seasonal post cards.

I am goingnowhere today.

I am readingnothing at the moment (other than Bible study)

I am hopingthat this week will be a lot of fun for us and that we will accomplish everything we set out to do.

I am hearingThe loud sounds of my children singing as they dance around the house acting like children. :-) ahhh the wonderful sound of laughter.

Around the housethere is still work to be done but that is a never ending task. I need to do a couple more loads of laundry and then prepare dinner.

One of my favorite things…Cute MICE, Cuddly Mice, brown mice, white mice,  and umm did I say Mice!! :-)

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Visiting Williams Orchard, sharing time with Deb and her family, doing something artsy at the park.

Simple Woman's Daybook

Photobucket

Outside My Windowwell since I am writing in the evening this time there is total darkness outside my window right now. I can't even see the moon.

I am thinkingabout my parents and wishing I could share my thoughts and feelings with them right now. I am going through some things with the homeschool group I was a part of, stress here at home, the pain of being so far away from my son and his wife and well, just life's things. I am sure many of you know where I am at.

I am thankful forthe Lord whom I can lean on in my times of trouble and pain.

From the kitchen…I can smell the herbal tea that I am about to consume to help rid myself of this horrible headache!

I am wearing…a black t-shirt with wild horses running across the front, red socks, and my black capri's. Gee seems a bit .... dark :-(

I am creating a set of post cards and a set of notecards that will be packaged to sell at the visitors center.

I am goingnowhere else today. I did my grocery shopping and ran my errands for the day. Tomorrow I might go out and enjoy a day of painting in the park... not sure on that yet though.

I am readingThe old schoolhouse magazine and "Sketching Outdoors in Summer by. Jim Arnosky

I am hopingthat things will calm down around here and we can get on with planning fun activities just as a family

I am hearingThe loud sounds of my dear husbands music as he watches one of his favorite bands on TV! Sorry honey I must be getting old but ARGH it is loud. hehehe

Around the housethe children are preparing for bed and checking to see what is on the agenda for tomorrow.

One of my favorite things…Cute MICE, Cuddly Mice, brown mice, white mice,  and umm did I say Mice!! :-)

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Preparing the October calendar for school, fun activities, doctor appointments and whatever has been planned. Finishing up some artsy swaps I am in and starting the final draft of my new book.

Outside My Windowthis morning when I rose it was still dark and the air was filled with Fog, lots of Fog. I can hear the horses trampling about but I could not see them. The kittens were meowing outside my window, I really wanted to let them in but I knew I just couldn't. I have been breathing so much better since we put them out and I just can't afford to go backwards.

I am thinkingabout all that I have planned for our first day back to school. Today is the kick-off. I have worked this morning on the final touches and look forward to a great day.

I am thankful forthe Lord allowing me to be a homeschooling mother. I love to spend the time with my children and learn right along with them.

I am hoping…to get things ready for tomorrows lessons tonight so that I can play in the morning instead of waking up early to be sure I am prepared. I just want to be ready and organized. HELP ME JESUS!

I am hearingThe whirl of the ceiling fan in the master bedroom and the clicking of the keys on the keyboard. The singing of crickets and the croaking of frogs. Ahhh God is all around me!

Around the housewe have every type of fan running since the air conditioner is still not working.

One of my favorite things…Cute MICE, Cuddly Mice, brown mice, white mice,  and umm did I say Mice!! :-)

Outside My WindowWell it is a bit early (5:30am) to know what the weather is going to bring but outside my window right now I can hear the croaking of tree frogs, the songs of the crickets and the beat of horse hooves walking in the pasture.

I am thinkingabout my wonderful husband and thanking the Lord for all he does. He tries so hard to make things good for us and I am praying that with the Lords help I can be a good helpmeet to him and do more things for him as well. Love ya Gary!

I am thankful forall the gifts the Lord has given me, for my vision of prosperity. For all the friends who have crossed my path and all those who have stayed for the long haul. I am thankful for my husband, my children and my extended family (praying for you always)

The Simple women's daybook for Aug 18th

Photobucket

Outside My Windowtoday the sun is shinning and everything seems calm. I keep watching out for our little kitten who seems to be gone. We put them out the other day for the first time in their lives and she decided to walk astray and disappear into the night. I pray she will return, for she is still so very young and her precious little brother is not having very much fun!

I am thinkingabout all the things the Lord has put on my heart this weekend and trying to figure out how I can make things right where I have lacked.

I am thankful forthe wisdom from the Lord to better myself and my family. To have the opportunity to homeschool and raise up my children in the way the Lord sees fit. I am thankful that He has pulled me through this bout with broncitis and that I am getting stronger every day.

From the kitchenabsolutely nothing!!

I am wearing…my iceblue oversized T-shirt with my Urchin squirell embroidered on it, cut off sweatpants and diabetic socks, an iceblue scrunchie in my hair to keep it out of my face and off my neck.

I am creating ATC's (artist trading cards) and postcards to send out for swaps and some to put in the Visitors center. I am also drawing up ideas for painting some of the gourds I have to place in the Visitors center also.

I am goingstay home today and work on lesson plans for this coming school year. It is only three weeks until we start with a full schedul!

I am still readingMy bible, seeking the Lords will. The creative License by Danny Gregory and Keepsake Crimes by Laura Childs.

I am hopingto catch up on all my deadlines and get things up to date. I pray that those who have been waiting on me, will continue to be patient as the Lord is helping me get things straight.

I am hearingThe hum of my own fan, Whyockin playing with a pop bottle cap across the ceramic tile floor.

Around the housethere are chldren doing their chores, a hubby sleeping off a full nights work, the beagle is trying to keep the horse off the front porch and I am trying to make a complete list of what needs to be done TODAY!

One of my favorite things…Cute MICE, Cuddly Mice and oh did I say Mice!!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: need to finish preparing for the first couple months of lessons for the school year. printing more primers and working on more art work.

Simple women's daybook

Outside My WindowI see the sun is shinning and there are a few clouds in the sky. Nice fluffy white clouds just begging for someone to come and see what shapes they hold. What I wouldn't do to just lay on my back and look for critters and things.

I am thinkingabout all the Lord has done for me and trying to hold fast to the peace and understanding He longs for me to have.

I am thankful forthe wisdom from the Lord to be still and wait upon Him. It was His timing for things to come about as they have and I am thankful He carried me through.

From the kitchenI hear the clattering of dishes as they are washed and put away. The hum of the round fan keeping the children cooled as they work and the smell of some yummy blackberry cake in the oven.

I am wearing…my pink oversized T-shirt with my prairie mouse embroidered on it, cotton capri's and diabetic socks, barrettes in my hair to keep it out of my face and off my neck.

I am creating ATC's (artist trading cards) and postcards to send out for swaps and some to put in the Visitors center. I am also drawing up ideas for painting some of the gourds I have to place in the Visitors center also.

I am goingto run to town later today. Stopping at the post office, pharmacy, grocery and then on to a dear friends house to pick up some more peaches to can.

I am readingMy bible, seeking the Lords will, The creative License by Danny Gregory and Keepsake Crimes by Laura Childs.

I am hopingthat this week will bring more happiness into my home, vision into my life and a purpose that I can hold on to.

I am hearingThe hum of my own fan, a bit of a radio broadcast and the whispers of things to do running through my head.

Around the housethere are chldren doing their chores, a hubby sleeping off a full nights work, poodle snoring and a big dog barking on the front porch. Hummm think she might want in??

One of my favorite thingsMICE, Mice and oh did I say Mice!!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: need to finish preparing for the first couple months of lessons for the school year. printing more primers and working on more art work.

This is a painting done by my most favorite artist. Her name is Akiane. She painted this when she was 11 years old and calls it "On my knees".  THAT is where I am until I hear the Lord speak to me! You can see more of her work HERE.  God has really blessed this child and you can be blessed through her.

Have a great week everyone!

Whew and Simple women's daybook

Whew I am glad that is over. Was having a little computer trouble last night (read as.. was having such a hard time staying awake while working on the computer that I pushed the wrong key and deleted the whole entry I was trying to make)

Refreshed and ready for another day I want to post what I was trying to post last night. (actually it was 3am THIS morning)

Photobucket

Hosted by Peggy @ The Simple Woman

Outside My Windowit is pitch black with a few stars shinning in. The moon is bright and laying like a crooked cat smile. In the distance I can here the sweet frog and cricket seranade. I know there are horses romping about graizing because I can hear the pounding of their hooves.

I am thinkingabout all I need to prepare for this weekend get-a-way of mine. I am getting so excited about it. I am also thinking about how different it was today, the children were smiling and my dh was laughing. What a wonderful site!

I am thankful forthe wisdom from the Lord to be still and wait upon Him. It was His timing for things to come about as they have and I am thankful He carried me through.

From the kitchenI can hear the crunching of Kibbles and Bits and the running paws of the kittens in their night time play.

I am wearingan oversized T-shirt, cotton capri's and diabetic socks.

I am creatingrecipe cards, ATC's (artist trading cards) and postcards to send out for the swaps I am involved in.

I am goingto have to run some errands tomorrow so that I can take care of things before I leave for the weekend. Finish cleaning the office and organizing all my art things.

I am readingDaring Color by Anne Abgott because I will be taking one of her watercolor classes this weekend.

I am hopingthat this weekend will be a time of refreshment, encouragement, inspiration and all around fun. I mean, how could it not be, I am going to be with my best bud!

I am hearingthe pitter patter of kitten feet, the sweet frog and cricket seranade and the clicking of the keys as I type.

Around the houseI see a little improvement as far as the organization is going and WAY to many animals. heheh

One of my favorite thingsMICE

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: need to finish preparing for my trip, finish organizing the office and grooming all the doggies.

Simple Woman's day book

[simple-woman-daybook-large.jpg]

Outside my window ~ The sun is shinning and I can see my son swinging in the oak tree (on a swing, not like a monkey) hehee

I am thinkingwondering how in the world I got myself where I am. My dh isn't happy and I don't know how to help that. I have failed and it hurts.

I am thankful for for my husband although I can't seem to do right by him, my children whom I have not done right by.

I am creating ~ wooden bird houses for the shop, hoping they will sell

From the kitchen ~ I can smell the makings of dinner. We are having hamburgers and beans with cukes and tomatoes.

I am going ~ in sane trying to figure out where life went wrong.

I am reading ~ Keepsake Crimes by Laura Childs. I just got it from the paperback swap.

I am hoping ~ that I will find a way to bring peace into our home and to get back into a routine.

I am hearing ~ the very annoying sound of my dog bark and bark at absolutely nothing.

Around the house ~ we have managed to reach the bottom of the laundry pile, and empty a few overloaded totes in my room.

One of my favorite things ~creating things, painting gourds and drawing.

A few plans for the rest of the week ... ~ I need to get with my co-partner and make some paper mache' cactus' for our Girl Scout camp this weekend. I also hope to spend some time outdoors with the horses.

A picture thought to share....

sometimes life is just THORNY.

My simple woman's daybook entry for July 7th

[simple-woman-daybook-large.jpg]

Outside my window ~ it is raining and very very windy. I almost feel like I am back in the Windy City of Chicago.

I am thinkingof how awful some people can be to go as far as trying to scam a vonerable 16 year old. We are praying for you Vivian!

I am thankful for The Lord who gave us the wisdom to know a true scammer, for my husband who works so hard to give us the things we long for, my children, my dear dear friends, the freedom to homeschool, the open fields for my furry friends to enjoy, the air I breath (which by the way isn't always easy with Asthma) I am thankful for the gift of creativity that the Lord has blessed me with.

I am creating ~ hand made recipe cards with my own original drawings on them, and more Note Cards.

From the kitchen ~ I can hear the beginning stages of dinner being prepared. Tonight Mariah is making Chicken Enchilada's. YUMO

I am going ~ to town today to get some advice about this scam. Praying all the way of course.

I am reading ~ Proverbs for parenting.

I am hoping ~ that I will find a way to bring peace into our home and to get back into a routine.

I am hearing ~ the very annoying sound of my dogs toe nails clicking and clanking on the floor as she walks from one room to another. Gee we have got to get them clipped.

Around the house ~ we are organizing the homeschool shelf and the office to prepare for the upcoming school year.

One of my favorite things ~creating cards, painting gourds and drawing. You really didn't expect me to just list one today DID YOU??

A few plans for the rest of the week ... ~ continue organizing and preparing for the school year, drawing, packing for my trip that is coming up!

A picture thought to share....

Our dolls are ready for this years adventure!
