My quirky quirks
I've Been Tagged!
OK, here's the new game for all us bloggers. First, someone tags you, then you follow these rules:
- Link to the person who tagged you.
- Post the rules on your blog.
- List 6 unspectacular quirks you have.
- Tag 6 bloggers by linking to them.
- Leave a comment on each taggee's blog to let them know they were tagged.
Thank you Laurie for the tag! Well I don't dare ask my children if I am quirky cause they would never tell me in fear of hurting my feelings. Sooo I am going to list the ones I KNOW I have and then have the children read it and comment with thier own idea's of my quirks. Be nice kids, I will be watching you!
Well, here are what I think are my quirks!
1) I stay up at least twice a week until 4 am or get up at 4 am so that I can have time to myself for at least 4 hours before anyone else is awake.
2) I love MICE, all kinds of mice, don't get me wrong I don't like when they invade my kitchen (although I have never had that problem before, I guess cause they know I like them but my cats don't). I am not talking the Mickey mouse type of mouse I like the cute cuddly mice and realistic mice. My family thinks that is weird but hey,. everyone is weird in one way or another.
3) AT 44 yrs old I like to draw and color and paint little kid things. Some say it's my artistic talent and some say I am quirky.
4) My house can be a wreck but if my bed is not made it drives me NUTS!!!
5) I like to drink milk with ice.
6) I can EAT 12 thirty two ounce glasses of ice a day, nothing added, just the ice!
So what are your quirks? Now I am supposed to tag six other people so here it goes....
I am tagging....
Kim over at A place to call Home
Kathy at Aunt Kathy's Home
Stitchinchick at SimpleFolk
HisIrishGem at Abundant Harvest Homestead
Julie at Hatfield House
Chas at Heritage Acres Farm
Well that's it folks I can't wait to see how quirky my friends are!

Simple Woman's Daybook

Outside My Window…well since I am writing in the evening this time there is total darkness outside my window right now. I can't even see the moon.
I am thinking…about my parents and wishing I could share my thoughts and feelings with them right now. I am going through some things with the homeschool group I was a part of, stress here at home, the pain of being so far away from my son and his wife and well, just life's things. I am sure many of you know where I am at.
I am thankful for…the Lord whom I can lean on in my times of trouble and pain.
From the kitchen…I can smell the herbal tea that I am about to consume to help rid myself of this horrible headache!
I am wearing…a black t-shirt with wild horses running across the front, red socks, and my black capri's. Gee seems a bit .... dark :-(
I am creating… a set of post cards and a set of notecards that will be packaged to sell at the visitors center.
I am going…nowhere else today. I did my grocery shopping and ran my errands for the day. Tomorrow I might go out and enjoy a day of painting in the park... not sure on that yet though.
I am reading…The old schoolhouse magazine and "Sketching Outdoors in Summer by. Jim Arnosky
I am hoping…that things will calm down around here and we can get on with planning fun activities just as a family!
I am hearing…The loud sounds of my dear husbands music as he watches one of his favorite bands on TV! Sorry honey I must be getting old but ARGH it is loud. hehehe
Around the house…the children are preparing for bed and checking to see what is on the agenda for tomorrow.
One of my favorite things…Cute MICE, Cuddly Mice, brown mice, white mice, and umm did I say Mice!! :-)
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Preparing the October calendar for school, fun activities, doctor appointments and whatever has been planned. Finishing up some artsy swaps I am in and starting the final draft of my new book.

It's been a long time
Gee it feel like forever since I have been here. I really miss blogging so decided to take some time today to update everyone. We have been busy with schooling and 4H and horse competitions and I just can't wait to share all of it with you all.
First of all I want to share pictures from a beautiful Garden I went to. We took the children so that they can draw the flowers that were in bloom and then learn to watercolor them and photograph them. We are going to display their art at the local library next weekend. Here are the photo's I took and I will share the children's work later next week.
I just love the way Joe and Ruth have this garden set up. There are different sections for everything. I wish I could remember the names of all the flowers they are so beautiful. I am going to take my printed pictures back to Ruth and ask her to tell me what they are and then I am going to write the names on the back so that when I put them in my art journal I will remember what they are.
It was a wonderful day at the Gardens, we took a small tour and then sat to eat our lunch, then the children set out to draw their favorite flowers. When everyone was done, I helped them with the colors and the paint strokes to get the look they wanted. It was good for me as well as the children. I am really trying to get the hang of mingeling my colors and making the object look as realistic as possible.
Aren't the flowers just beautiful!
Stop back by soon, I will have the pictures from the horse competition up in no time.

Simple Women's Daybook

Outside My Window…this morning when I rose it was still dark and the air was filled with Fog, lots of Fog. I can hear the horses trampling about but I could not see them. The kittens were meowing outside my window, I really wanted to let them in but I knew I just couldn't. I have been breathing so much better since we put them out and I just can't afford to go backwards.
I am thinking…about all that I have planned for our first day back to school. Today is the kick-off. I have worked this morning on the final touches and look forward to a great day.
I am thankful for…the Lord allowing me to be a homeschooling mother. I love to spend the time with my children and learn right along with them.
From the kitchen…I can smell the coffee that is just about done brewing!
I am wearing…today I am wearing my orange T-shirt and my black capri's
I am creating… when school is finished I will be creating new posts on my website. I have so much to catch everyone up on.
I am going…nowhere today. Just schooling away!
I am reading…My bible, Seasons of a Mother's Heart by Sally Clarkson.
I am hoping…to get things ready for tomorrows lessons tonight so that I can play in the morning instead of waking up early to be sure I am prepared. I just want to be ready and organized. HELP ME JESUS!
I am hearing…The whirl of the ceiling fan in the master bedroom and the clicking of the keys on the keyboard. The singing of crickets and the croaking of frogs. Ahhh God is all around me!
Around the house…we have every type of fan running since the air conditioner is still not working.
One of my favorite things…Cute MICE, Cuddly Mice, brown mice, white mice, and umm did I say Mice!! :-)
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Preparing for our Teddy Bear Picnic on Tuesday, making Hot cross buns on Thursday, homeschool group Thursday afternoon, somehow fitting in a special something in honor of 9/11
Here is picture thought I am sharing....
This is a picture of a Tea Blossom. It is called Friendship. I made this tea when I was with my dear friend Laurie on our wacky weekend holiday. It was so pretty and the tea was good too.
To get Blooming Teas go HERE! They are wonderful tasting, beautiful to see and not real expensive.!

Simple Woman's Daybook

Outside My Window…this morning was very dewy and the fog was heavy but the sound of all the little creatures was heavenly. I love to listen to the many voices of God's creatures as they sing their morning praises.
I am thinking…about all the wonderful things I am planning for this school year. We are really getting excited about starting the year off. Sept 8th will be our first day!
I am thankful for…all the wonderful things one can find on the internet to help with homeschooling and all the great resources there are.
From the kitchen…I can smell the yummy coffee cake baking and the coffee that is just about done!
I am wearing…today I am wearing my light blue T-shirt with Urchin embroidered over the pocket. He is such a cute lil squirell
I am creating… Today I finished up some baby toys for April off of freecycle and a nursing wrap as well.
I am going…to run to town today to meet with the Girls Scout administrator for our area. I am signing on as a Troop leader instead of co-leader this year and need to get all my books and forms and all that. I am looking forward to getting started.
I am reading…My bible, Seasons of a Mother's Heart by Sally Clarkson.

I am hearing…The whirl of the ceiling fan in the master bedroom and the clicking of the keys on the keyboard. The singing of crickets and the croaking of frogs. Ahhh God is all around me!
Around the house…we have every type of fan running since the air conditioner decided to go out during the hotest week of the year! EEkkkks I am spoiled when it comes to air conditioning.
