IT's the final countdown
I am getting so excited about seeing my dear friend Laurie this weekend. We will be attending Anne Abgott's "Daring Color" class together and then having the weekend to do a sketch crawl, draw in the gardens, visit art museums and so much more. (Let's see how much we can cram in a weekend hehee) Anyway, I was making my packing list and checking it twice and as I was thinking of other things to write on the list I started doodling and this is what I came up with. ..
1 Day 15 hours until I leave

I went for a walk today
For some that may not seem like a big deal but thanks to my health lately it has been a struggle for me to walk from one room to the other inside the house.
Well I have been staring at these daisies and black eyed susans long enough. I was determined to go out and pick them. Soooo I grabbed my little flower basket (and my inhaler) and put on my shoes and went outside. When I reached the flowers, to my dismay, they were all wiltted and covered in bugs and surrounded by thorny bushes.
So instead of picking them I decided to photograph them. Here is what I came up with..
I added the frame to this one using photobucket.
Here are some blackberries almost ready for the pickin.
more lil wild flowers
then I spied the brightest lil red lady bug I have ever seen. She was BIG and Bright! Then there were these homey looking beetles flying EVERYWHERE. Ewwwww
Well that was the extent of my walk. A short one but a walk none the less. Thank you Lord for giving me the strength to enjoy your creation today. I pray that you will continue to make me stronger and stronger each day.

Just poppin in to say hello
Hello everybody
It has been awhile since I have just blogged to blog so I thought I would do so today. It has been a busy time here with the starting of our summer curriculum, preparing for the Girl Scout bridging ceremony, writing more Unit Studies for the homeschool group, and just the norm of living on a farm. I have to say though that I don't mind being a little busy it helps keep my mind off things less desireable,. like my health. hehhe
Today is such a beautiful day outside I think Hubby and I are going to start the raised bed box. I can't wait to get the garden going. I really want to succeed at it this year.
Well I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. Don't forget to stop and smell the flowers (what out for those allergies though)
Love to all

WE GOT SNOWWWWW!!!!
Ahhh finally., the winter snow has fallen. We haven't had much snow around here the past two years and I was just talking to a friend yesterday saying how wonderful it would be to just get enough to allow the children a SLED DAY!!
And isn't God wonderful., he gave us just that. We woke up this morning to about four inches. The children were sledding for about two hours today and just had a great time.
Tomorrow it will most likely melt as they are calling for temps in the mid 40's. So YES the Lord answers prayers.
Thank you Lord.

Holiday Open House 2007

For those of you who haven't been by Tiany's blog lately. She is hosting a Holiday Open House for 2007. It is open to anyone, homeschoolers, non-homeschoolers. All you have to do is... Share a post about Christmas or Thanksgiving in your home, as elaborate as you like with pictures or without. If you are new to Homeschool Open House you can view the original carnival HERE.
I am adding my Christmas Wishes. ...
The reason I say Christmas Wishes is that we have not 'accomplished' them just yet. This week I pray we can pull this all together. STAY TUNED FOR PICTURES GALORE!!!
Tonight (Dec 3rd) we will finish preparing our Advent wreath. I have taken a small amount of Hay (with these rib-be horses I can't afford to take much from them) and I have tied it together to make a circle. Then we cut out leaf shapes from our Salt dough and shaped them over the hay. We are now cooking them to harden them. Tonight we will paint them and glue them in place. We will enjoy singing Deck the halls as we assemble our wreath. We will then read from Jotham’s Journey and light our Candle of Hope again. Before retiring for the night we will hang all of our wreaths in the windows of our home and light our battery operated candles.
And remember if you would like to join us just stop by and post a comment at Tiany's blog “Less Of Me ~ More Of Him” The open house starts on Monday December 3rd and will run through Monday December 10th. She has writen a few questions that you may want to use to post a 'seasonal' message on your blog. .....
IF you are doing a Thanksgiving post, you can share what you did, share some pics, what crafts or projects did you do with the children. Did you incorporate any activities or traditions centered around our Lord?
How do you keep Christ in Christmas?
Share some fun things you do with your family, traditions, is there a new tradition you want to start?
Share fun activities, projects, crafts, unit studies or websites you might incorporate into your homeschool/home.
Gifts~ Share gifts that you will be making, gifts from your kitchen, gifts that you have sewn., frugal ideas etc…
Mister Linky will be up on the 3rd, on Tiany's blog, when you link to mister Linky you must link directly to your Open House post. I have had ladies linking that are not participating and it becomes too difficult to find your post.
Hope to see some of you join us. It will be great fun.
Tomorrow we will enjoy a day of cookie baking. We have adopted the peppermint cookie recipe from Proverbs Family and the Spritz Cookie recipe from 2 Peas in a pod. Then of course we will be making the famous Sugar cut out cookies we make each year. We are looking forward to sharing this time new friends from our Horse Riding Lessons. We will then attend lessons in the evening and share our homemade cookies and Hot Chocolate Cocoa Mix from Susan Branch. Oh how I love her website, recipes, EVERYTHING. Once we get home we will read day four of Jotham’s Journey and retire to our warm cozy beds.
Wednesday I have set aside to make Christmas-Cards-a-plenty. We will be using some photo’s I took from our past Christmas seasons and making cards to share with family and friends. We will also be packaging some up for our local elderly residents. It has been on our hearts to share the love of the Lord with them so we are making cards and ornaments to share.
You can also read my other post about some of our newest traditions.
This is just the beginning of our Season of Blessing so be sure to stop by again soon to see the pictures and other ideas we have come up with.
