I am pretty happy with the way it turned out...

Smile
This is what I need to tell myself today. I pray anyone else out there that needs to hear this will play it over and over like I am and
SMILE
God says He will bring a smile to your face any time any place .... all you have to do is ask.
Matthew 21:22 (King James Version)
22And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Simple Woman's Day book
I know I am a day late with this but it isn't written in stone that we HAVE to do it on Monday..... is it?
Anyway, Here it is...

FOR TODAY May 26th 2009
Outside My Window... It is raining again. I am thankful for the rain and pray for those that need it too. It is supposed to rain all week again. I don't know if we need THAT much!! hehee
I am thinking... Of how I can change things within my home. Seems we are all in a bit of a slump and spirits are really down. Lord., lead me!!!
I am thankful for... the air I breath, the Lord who comforts me and the friends that make me smile.
From the learning rooms... Finishing up with testing so that I can call it a year and start planning for the next.
From the kitchen...It is quiet. I made breakfast for dh when he got in from work this morning at 7am and all is cleaned up and ready for the next meal.
I am wearing... a black pair of cotton/spandex shorts, danskin socks, and a country blue T.
I am 'continuing' to create... a mini story book, re-doing some postcards AGAIN for swaps I did that didn't make it to their destination, (I am so fed up with the postal service) and some more dish clothes cause one can never have to many. (you can see my work HERE)
I am going... to head out to the grocery store and then Lowes to pick up my plant lite for the kitchen hutch.
I am reading...Ragwood by: AVI., I know.. it is a children's book but hey... it's about a mouse. :-)
I am hoping... the Lord will bless husband with overflowing joy, carry me through another day, and bring happiness to this house, and my children.... somehow!
Around the house...I am redoing my sons room. We were blessed with a bedroom suit and he is the lucky recipiant. (thanks for finding it for us Deb)
One of my favorite things... MICE of course, days filled with sunshine, laughter, a happy husband and happy children. Notes in the mail from friends far away, and keeping in touch with my sisters....where ever they may be.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: finishing J's room, refacing the kitchen cabinets, and then planting the flower patch (if it ever stops raining) .
Here is picture thought I am sharing..

Look what we have
Ok... another Hines57 litter. heehee This time it was the Cat.
Nakota had five lil furry babes this past week and man are they cute.

From top to bottom.. Lil Russ (we will have to change this one's name ... I believe she is a girl) on the bottom is Saven Grace, top Simba, Calley and then Frosty. They were all born on the 14th and doing well. Nakota is a good mommy. Here is a picture of the third born and hence the name Simba...

He had such a MANE when he dried off it was irresistible.
Stay tuned to watch them grow.

Ahhh the signs of Summer
are lerking around the corner. Summer for me this year means having my two girls off to camp for one&two months. Adjusting to the new schedule my dh will hold. No more swing shift, he will be M-F 9am to 5pm with weekends off. There are many blessings to this and only one downfall. I really enjoyed him being off for four days here and there. Sometimes during the week, sometimes over the weekend. We were able to do things as a family in the middle of the week and that was always fun. Butttttt I am blessed that he has a job and that we will have each weekend together. **praying continuously for those that no longer have jobs and/or are away from their loved ones**
I found a new Farm nearby that has a wonderful Garden and many many classes and special events that I am praying I can frequent over the summer. I am going to take a class on how to make my own Rain Barrell, cultivate lavendar, watercolor different plants and flowers and maybe even make my own soap. They have so many wonderful classes lined up, I wish I could take them all.
I am also planning a few close by field trips for my son and I while the girls are away. Maybe a Civil war reenactment, you know.. things the girls really wouldn't get into but he would. It will be the perfect time to so that.
What are your plans for the summer.,? Anything fun happenin in your neck of the woods? Drop me a line and let me know what YOUR doing.
Have a blessed day

Ride for St. Jude
We had our Annual ride for St. Jude's Children's Hospital this past weekend. Both of my girls rode for the event and camped out at the Ranch for the whole weekend.
It is a great event and they raised over $8000.00. They really roughed it this year and slept in the back of the horse trailer, toughed out a tornado watch (which had me on the edge of my seat until well after 3am) and they worked the kitchen for some of the weekend, helped with the stalled horses and the wagon horses. My JIM didn't pull the wagons this year. (He really isn't mine but Oh how I wish he was). He is the draft horse that has been here for about three years. This year he didn't pull the wagons cause he lost his pasture buddy to a horrible horrible situation. He suffered depression and just isn't strong enough yet to pull. I love him so!!
Anyway, here are some photos' the girls took.
Here is Tommy Brown, He is the owner of Kanawa Valley where the event took place.
Here the wagons start to pull out...
Here are the horse back riders that followed along.. I think there were over 300 people in all.
Here they are taking a break after riding for about 4 hours.
after the ride everyone met back at the ranch for lunch and entertainment. All in all the girls had a great weekend.
Thank you Lord for keeping them safe even in the not so best of circumstances.

Simple women's Daybook

FOR TODAY May 4th 2009
Outside My Window... This morning it was so gray and raining like the dickens but now the sun is shinning and the clouds are passing. God knows what I needed today as I have to drive the horse trailer about 32 miles and I didn't want to do it in the RAIN!! Thank you Lord.
I am thinking... all that I need to do today. I have to take one of the horses to the barn where we have other horses and have them Shod, then I need to come home and finish 'spring cleaning' my room. While I am out and the girls are with the Farrier I will be finishing my doodles that have to be sent out this week.
I am thankful for... so many things but most importantly my Lord, my family and my friends. Looking forward to spending some Wild time with my wacky friend soon.
From the learning rooms... Today we will go over our lessons for the week, work on our math, science and some creative writing.
From the kitchen...It us completely quiet as the dishes are done, meals are made and dinner is in the crockpot.
I am wearing... a black pair of spandex shorts, an oversized T, comfy danskin socks, and my memory foam slippers. :)
I am 'continuing' to create... a mini story book, some ATC's and postcards for swaps I have signed up for. (you can see my work HERE)
I am going... to make this a good day. I will let NOTHING stand in my way. :-) Not weakness, nor pain... I will regain!!
I am reading...Mismantle chronicles (again).
I am hoping... the Lord will bless husband. Carry me through another day, and bring happiness to this house, and my children.... somehow!
Around the house...things are starting to settle down as we need to prepare to leave for the farm soon.
One of my favorite things... MICE of course, days filled with sunshine, laughter, and happy children. Notes in the mail from friends far away, and keeping in touch with my sisters....where ever they may be.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Working out on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, making gifts for my Daughter in law for Mother's Day, working on my second publication, and finishing the spring cleaning in my room so that it can be painted. (No I haven't gotten that done yet) .

Wild n Wacky times
For goodness sake, I hadn't realized it had been so long since I have posted anything so I thought I would take some time today to do so.
Things have been pretty wacky around here lately. Since I had last written my oldest daughter got bit by a brown recluse spider... took her to the ER and was told it was ringworm and they put her on meds for ring worm. 24 hours later it bubbled up like something I had never seen before so we went back to the ER (another hosp. mind you) and there we were told it was a brown recluse bite. These spiders are tricky little things. You really don't know to hurry and treat them until you start feeling the worse of the symptoms. Thankfully we caught it early. This is what it looked like by the third day. ..
For the following two weeks after the bite she went through muscle soreness, flu like symptoms, and days and days of nothing but sleeping only waking to take more meds. It was a scary time for us... well, me! but praise God we made it through and she is A OK now!
Then I had my sister and nephew visit for a couple of day. This is the first time any of my sisters have come here to visit. It was a lot of fun. We went to my favorite spot on the river and low and behold they had built a Gazebo there (ahhh just for me... not) we enjoyed listening to the sounds of the river and just catching up on things.
Then the latest wild and crazy thing is the ROOF! Yes the roof of my home was trying it's best to completely blow off. We noticed a leak in the kitchen light fixture, water all over the floor, and a bubble growing under the paint. NOT a good thing to wake up to. Soooo I called our trusty insurance people and found out exactly what I had to do to get it fixed and prayed it would happen fast.
Within just a few hours we had someone at the house assessing the damage and making plans to have it fixed. (Thank you Darell and Deb.. love ya) By evenings end the main part of the roof was repaired so there would be no more leaking and plans to fix the rest of it are being made. God is so good.....!!!
Well that is about all the EXCITING stuff, now we are just back to the same ole thang. Schoolin, runnin, workin out at the wellness center, and whatever else life brings our way.
I hope you all are starting to enjoy the summer weather, looks like we are in for a few days of wonderful weather.
Be blessed and stop by again soon. Ohhhh and don't forget to comment so I know you were here.
