Now what could this be
Every day, just about once an hour I will get a little burnning feeling on my skin somewhere, I will scratch it once and this is what I get....
can you see the welts. Now what is causing this I do not know but man I tell you, it is just horrible. It itches and burns and itches and hurts and did I mention it itches. As soon as I put Renew lotion on it within three to five minutes it is gone. Catch me without my lotion and it will drive me crazy to the point of making it bleed from scratching.
Could it be some sort of Diabetic reaction? Nerves? What? I am going to go in sane trying to figure it out. I can never explain just what happens when I try to tell the doctor but maybe this picture will help next time I go in. It is just crazy. And there is no spot on my body in particular. It hits where it wants., when it wants.
Anyone have any ideas?

Have you been tested for allergies? It kinda looks like allergies to me or nerves. You can have your Dr. draw some blood and due an allergy test that way. I also use the renew, it is good stuff. God Bless. mj
*cindy says* I have been tested for allergies a long time ago and have several but nothing has ever done THIS to me. ??? I will have to see the Doc again soon. Thanks for responding.

You have allergies my dear. My son at the age of 13 suddenly became allergic to aspirin and ibuprofin. He breaks out in these large whelps and swells all over, including his insides. I've had to rush him to the hospital several times for shots before we figured out what was going on. He is now 24 and still suffers with the itchy red whelps now and then.
Be careful that you don't go into anafalectic (sp ?) shock, which is what my son does. It is very dangerous. Check with your doctor soon...........Kitty

Oh, you poor dear! Hives are NO fun! Kitty is right, you really need to be seen. I had an anaphylactic reaction to IV dye on Thursday (during a head CT w/contrast) and it was not pretty. I was still breaking out yesterday, even with Prednisone and Benadryl--yuck! I feel your pain!

It looks like it could be a form of hives as the commentators mentioned above, but I also welt up if I scratch a lot which it red raised areas because I've scratched too much. I use a non-steroid lotion that has helped tremendously called Sarna.

Ohmygosh! How terrible! Get to the doctor! It looks to me like you are having a MAJOR allergic reaction to something. It can be very dangerous if that's what it is. Keep us posted on what you find out poor dear!

Yes, I definitely think you should check that out with a doctor! Allergies are very mysterious, and it's often hard to pinpoint what's causing them. Another possiblity, and this is a minute chance, is a small spider bite while you were sleeping.
Hope you feel better soon!

OH MY GOODNESS! That looks terrible! You should definately get it checked out... if nothing else, they can give you an ointment to help relieve the itching and pain!

I have had reactions like this before and it was due to allergies. My daughter had reactions like this when she was attending school and it was due to nerves. Have you found out what it is yet? I will be keeping you in my prayers!I hope you get relief soon. I've enjoyed your blog today!
