Farm Whoo's update
Oh my stars what an adventure. Let's just say I wasn't about to ask 'what next', or 'what more can go wrong', I simply said "ok, this is enough, nothing more can go wrong now!"
It took the girls and I just about an hour to hook up the horse trailer because of it's position on the hill and wouldn't you know it, it was pouring down the rain. Just when we were about to give up, it clicked! grrr
My oldest dd and I set out to bring the ole boy to the vet and we are driving along the curvy country roads when we hear a bit SMACH., looking in the rear view mirror I see that the horse had fallen forward into the front vented window of the trailer, breaking out two pains of glass and ripping the screen. OH MY GOODNESS!!! So we had to pull off the road and check the poor mate and wouldn't you know it, he busted his mouth. Calming him (and ourselves) and looking for the missing glass (which was not found, I am thinking it slid off the roadway). WHEW!!
So here we go, we have to get on the express-way to get to the Vet office and just as I got 20 feet from the on ramp DOWN WENT BLAZE! Talk about scared!! I put the Expo in park and jumped out and sure enough the ole guy was down. At first I thought he went down from the injury but after assessing the situation we discovered he went down because he had kicked his rubber padding out from underneath himself. Now he has a big gauge of meat taken out of his nose and he is hanging from one of the neck straps that help hold him in place. UUGHHH!!! So here we are in the turn lane to go on the on-ramp, trying to get our poor fella to his feet, just when a little cowboy comes over asking if we needed help. Silly thing climbs into the trailer and just then Blaze went to frailin and bouncing about trying to get on his feet. I have never seen anyone fly out the back end of the trailer before in my life. His lil body got to movin and just jumped right out. Thank God he was alright and wasn't kicked in the process.
Now Blaze is on his feet again, Amanda (our trusty horse trainer and FRIEND) was on her way with her horse trailer to try and give us a hand. I called the Vet to tell him of our dilema and he too came to where we were. Poor Blaze is really in pain now and so Doc Taylor treated him on the spot.
We find out that the bulge is NOT a hernia but a protruding contusion and his belly is bruised. Thank GOD that it wasn't anything more than that AND that it didn't get worse when he fell in the trailer. Doc treated him with Antibiotics and pain meds and gave us meds to treat him at home, we loaded him onto Amanda's trailer which is much better equipt than ours and she brought him on home for us.
Now he is back in the pasture and keeping to himself. We have to watch him and hose him down freezing cold water three times a day to help the swelling go down. Then walk him to work out the bulge. Poor guy, he is ALWAYS the one to get hurt. We love him so much though!
Thank you Thank you to all who prayed. God heard and healed!

What an amazing story! Poor, poor Blaze! I'm so glad though that it all had a happy outcome and that you had people like the cowboy, the vet and Amanda to come help out.
We're praying for a speedy recovery.
Love and Blessings!

Oh My Cindy, what an adventure. I think I would have needed a sedative from the vet too. Glad it all ended well. It's so nice that you were surrounded by angels - the vet, Amanda, & the cowboy.
Love & Hugs,
