Handmade with Love Holiday Gift Exchange

Here is my entry for the Homemade with Love Holiday gift exchange. I was invited to a Christmas tea last year and needed to come up with something original to 'dress' my table. Since it was a 'tea party' theme I decided to make this little tree. It is so easy. All you need is...   a styrofoam cone found in the craft section at walmart,  I think they were like $.89 cents each. Then I got I choose Evergreen color and then the little sweet tea time charms. I found these at Walmart also in the craft section. They are approx. $1.89 per package and I think there were 10 in a pack. on line photo!

With the yarn I single crochet 200 stitches using a G size hook. Then I crocheted a 'shell stitch' all the way down the chain. To learn how to do a shell stitch you can visit ABOUT.COM there are wonderful instructions there.

Once the chain was done I simply wound it around the 6" cone and hot glued it at each end. I made another chain from the red yarn that was 60 single crochet stitches and then did two rows of  the shell stitch. I glued that to the bottom of the cone. For the top I made a little crochet angel but can not share the pattern because it was my charity crochet angel I used just for the display. I am sure you can find a small angel to place on top or even crochet a star... HERE is the pattern for a star.

Last but not least I added the charms. You can use any sort of charm. Walmart has tons to choose from.

Well I hope you enjoyed this little give a way. If you decide to make one please leave a comment and let me know, I would love to see them.

Have a blessed Holiday Ya'll.

What a wonderful craft idea! I love how you made a "standard base" (the Christmas tree) and then decorated it with a theme! Thank you so much for sharing this idea!
