TreasureChest Thursday

Well folks here I am for the third time trying to post about our TreasureChest Thursday. We have had so many storms come through here in the past two days that each time I tried to post and send pictures we would loose power. Well the winds are quiet now so I am praying I can get through this without any troubles. Geesh!!

To start off, I had planned to make Bird Houses for our Hope/Treasure Chests. I had the plans all ready and the wood we were given out in the barn. Well after looking at the plans and seeing it would be a pretty heafty bird house, we decided it would be better to make a more dainty bird house. I mean, this would be the girls first bird house for their new home and it would just be cuter smaller and with a more dainty look. Sooo back to the drawing board we went. Since it was not a day we had planned on going into town we decided to just make a list of the supplies we would need and then get them next time we were in town.

 Soooo we gathered up a few other TreasureChest ideas and decided to make our own Crochet Kits. These would be made from material we already had here at the house and something I know we will all use, now and in the future. We got ourselves some paper and drew out a little plan of what we wanted them to look like..

here is the front cover. We can embroider it on or use fabric paints. here is what the inside will look like. We can put our patterns (the one we are currently working on) on the left, our scissors and finishing needles in the center, and our different size hooks on the right. We will close them with either a button or a ribbon bow.

Getting excited about the project we all went down and picked out our material and started measuring and cutting (I will have to post pictures of that later because the battery in my camera needs to be charged so they are stuck in there for a bit.) We had fun talking about future plans and projects while we were cutting. I can't wait to see the finished products and share them all with you.
