Too Much Stuff

Hello everybody, I have come across a contest to declutter your heart and home. Well, if you can imagine a cluttered home being the source of an illness, I can be proof of it.

I am painfully admitting to a being a 'messy bug' hording TO MUCH STUFF. Here is a photo I took of the worst cluttered area of my home. My BEDROOM!! Eeekkkk

 it got this way from decluttering the rest of the house. Heehee everyone elses rooms look great and orderly and well, here is mine. It has been this way for almost a year (ouch that hurts) Believe it or not there are about 11 rubbermade totes and three laundry baskets full of thing back there. There are about 6 shoeboxes full of 'craft' type things and I think even a few other boxes of Stuff!

I am sure I could do without 1/2 or even 3/4ths of all this stuff. I can even go as far as cleaning out my closet and can probably take two truck loads of things to Goodwill.

I plan to clear all of this out and organize what I don't get rid of into labeled totes.

When I get that done I am going to repaint the walls a sage green and add Sunflowers around as a border. I am going to put an oversized chair in the corner with an antique rolltop desk where I can keep my prayer journal, bible, current reading book and stationary paper. There will be a small foot rug and of course a wee little doggie bed for my Pumpkin.  I want this corner to be a peaceful, comfy place to enjoy my quiet time with the Lord and a place where pumpkin and I can just sit!

My goal is to have this area done by the end of the week. Please someone keep buggin me!!! heehee I can't wait for the 'Freeing' feeling I will have when this is all done. I do know that clearing this all out of my home will help in more ways than one.

Golly, that is a big job! If you read the interview on the Porch you'll know that it isn't just about organizing what we have but getting rid of what we really don't need as well.
