In our Schoolroom
Today is a beautiful Spring type day here in Virginia and the children are taking full advantage of it. It is the time of year when there are new lives to be discovered. After our normal studies today the children went on a little hike down to our pond looking for signs of Spring and guess what they found.!
They found little bud's upon the trees, salamander eggs, frog eggs, birds singing here and there and blue skies everywhere. There's a smell in the air that just say 'ahhh' and sprigs of grass poking up through the ground. Isn't God's creation just beautiful!!
I guess this means we will start our 'Lifecycle of a Frog", and new this year will be "Lifecycle of a Salamander", studies. They brough home a bundle of each.
I have a unit study for Pond Life I guess I can throw that in too.
They also went on a horse back ride down to the river to see what they could find there. Only thing was, the horses got to do the scavenging. heehee They walked the girls up and down the river bank, pawing at the water and trying really hard to get the girls wet. heehee Good thing they didn't succeed. The wind started picking up and it got a little chilly.
Well that is what went on in our 'science' lab today, what did you do in yours?
* Share a Blessing!
