In our Kitchen

Boy are we having a blast in our kitchen these days. After not making many 'real time homebaked meals' for awhile due to my sickness, the children and I have really loved getting back into it. PTL I have been feeling pretty good!! I do tend to wear out pretty fast but I can still be in there to help. Anyway, with the menu cards I made up we pulled six this morning, made up the grocery list and went to the grocery store. DH came along for the ride too. We got everything we needed with the exception of V8 for $180. Then went to the farmers market to get Apples for Apple butter, runners to freeze, green peppers to freeze, country Ham, cukes, salad onions, zuccini, squash, tomatoes to can, banana's to put in the dehydrator along with some apples too, and carrots to eat and some to freeze. So I guess we will be busy tomorrow and Monday with the canning, cutting and dehydrating duties.

Once we arrived home and got all our goodies put away we went to making dinner. Tonights dinner was to be Fettuccine Cacciatore, Salad and rolls. Well we forgot to make the roll dough before we left soooooo we could have gotten store bought rolls  but all opt not to and just do without the bread.  Well here is how wonderful it turned out to be and you know what, the children did it all on their own while I wasn't far away when they had questions.  Oh my gosh they did a wonderful job and mmmm was it good. Then, tonight was Mariah's snack choice and she chose to make Cookies and cream cupcakes. They also turned out marvelous. I really have some great cooks in the house!    mmmm now I have to admit I was ready for seconds on both but had to fight the temptation. heehee

I am so thankful that the Lord has blessed me with children that LOVE to cook.
