head out of town and my first watercolor class
I was so excited about going out of town and meeting my dearest friend Laurie so we took some extra time and cleaned the car out real good and checked all the things that need checkin. My DH even took it to the car wash and shampoo'd the carpet in it for me.
isn't he sweet!! Needless to say the car was all cleaned out and empty but only long enough for me to get it home and LOAD IT UP!!!
I wanted to bring a fruit basket for those midnight munchies, some crafts to work on while I was waiting for Laurie to arrive, the picnic basket in case we went to the gardens to doodle we can picnic there too. I brought a small cooler full of ice (gotta have my ice ya know) and then I brought along the Blooming tea bulbs I bought months ago just for this occasion. When I arrived at the hotel I had a couple hours before Laurie would arrive so I decided to take some pictures of the room. I was so excited to see that there were Girafees framed on the walls (Laurie loves Girafees)
Then I set up the fruit basket..
I had never seen donut peaches before, so when I saw them at the Farmers Market I just had to get some. Man were they delicious. (the kids and I ate them today hehehe) Here is the first Blooming Tea Bulb I made. It is called the Happiness Tea...
It was so pretty. It was an herbal tea and taste pretty good. I did discover that I didn't add enough water so it was a bit strong but it was good!
I think we stayed up until about 2am or so that night and just talked about things and shared things and oh yes, I had to draw my still life in preperation for the next days watercolor class. Thank goodness Laurie brought extra 300lb paper, silly me forgot the huge pack I bought to bring with me. (Thanks Laur
)
The next morning we got up and headed out to Cheap Joe's for class. The class was to start at 10am so we got a bite to eat first. We painted for about an hour
and listened closely.
This is where I was ..
Getting the right shade of the pears was really hard for me. Oh and painting silver bowls.... NOT something I am going to do often. heheh Laurie was doing such a wonderful job, I just wanted to switch paintings with her...
Here is what I ended up with after a six hour class. There is still much more to do, but Rome wasn't built in a day...
After the class was over, we had Anne sign our books (thanks again for the book Laurie, I will use it often) and then we took pictures with her.
I don't know why but I can't find the picture of Anne and me.... hummm will have to look into that
.
The class was a lot of fun, there were some sweet people there (well other than Laurie and I hehhe) and Anne is a wonderful teacher.
* Share a Blessing!

I would love to know where you purchased the blooming tea bulb. It looks amazing and my secret sister right now is a tea lover.
Thanks
