There is a lot on the list....but really, there isn't too much. It's all time and funds for the most part. Plenty of little odds and ends to keep us occupied while we continue to grow into the vision we have for this homestead of ours.
In The Barn: prepare front room for incubator and brooder space First room about completed today!
prepare side rooms for storage -- build shelving for walls, repair missing/loose boards, etc. shelving is ready -- just need to clear the room now. It's the next on the list out there!
build feed bins for storage of grains
re-floor side of loft for hay storage
replace loose/damaged tin on back side of roof
cement floor of small barn -- cement built-in feeder and water troughs
remove back boards on chicken coop -- replace with corrugated light panels and screening (windows)
set up individual (yet removable) stalls along left side.
reseed main chicken run with mustard and such for sanitizing the ground ugh...ditzy unhelpful hens...they ate my seedlings as they sprouted. Ok, gotta rethink this one...
of course, overall maintenance and such...it is an old barn, but it's in pretty decent shape for our needs here.
Inside The Homestead: set foundation....basement? Still making that decision it seems...
for now, rework front porch area....railing for plants, pull-down shades/rain protection, etc. half the railing is up -- I hope it's all up by Thanksgiving next week!
Autumn and Winter clothing needs...see listing on another post! getting there... prepare pantry stock for winter needs
Around The Homestead: fencing is always in progress around here...
as is clearing land and settling pasture areas for better use...
the pond is seasonal and we'd like to do something about that
the creek is seasonal, though there is a spring that seems to 'trickle' in a bit all year round. It's not enough for any real use, plus we have those neighbors up the creek here and I hate to think what they are allowing into it...
we're looking for a couple of good milk cows and a couple of beef cows as well....
dairy goats aren't a big thing around us, but I'd love to get them again, though the cow seems more practical in terms of how much we need around here...
This is certainly a work-in-progress and I'll be updating and crossing off (hopefully!!) as we move along
Updates in red from November 14th.

No indulgences of self will can be trivial, no denial unprofitable; Heaven or Hell depends on this alone. A parent who studies to subdue it in his child works together with God in the renewing and saving of their soul. The parent who indulges it does the devil's work, makes religion impractical, salvation unattainable, and does all that in him lies to damn his child, soul and body, forever.
Susanna Wesley

We are a Christian family desiring to raise our children with the primary focus of Training their Hearts!
I have no greater joy, than to hear my children walk in truth... III John 1:4
Train up the child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it... Proverbs 22:6
Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever!... Deuteronomy 5:29
Our mission in life is not to go to some far-off foreign land, but to work at home and in our churches and home communities. Our goal should not be to leave behind riches and possessions, farms and homes for our children, but a priceless heritage they will cherish enough to work fervently to pass along to their children. It has been done for generations and with God's help it can still be done. In teaching our children, we are striving toward a deep understanding of who they are In Christ. I am . . . a child of God, a gift to my parents and my country. I'm a person of great value because God made me. I can . . . do all things through Christ who strengthens me. God has made me able to do everything required of me. I ought . . . to do my duty to obey God, to submit to my parents and everyone in authority over me, to be of service to others, and to keep myself healthy with proper food and rest so my body is ready to serve. I will . . . resolve to keep a watch over my thoughts and choose what's right even if it's not what I want.
