First TIme For Everything
OK, here goes. . . .
As we enter a new year, my DW is trying to engage me in blogging. I keep telling her I know just enough about the Internet & computers to be dangerous. I much prefer safer hobbies, like my guns, archery equipment, the tractor, power tools, fishing trips 60 miles out into the Gulf of Mexico, and other harmless endeavors. Let's face it, between the 80 miles round trip to work, the 12 hour day at S-W, and trying to be a husband and father, there isn't much time for my pursuits, let alone taking on another. But I will try. I want to get more involved in my ultimate goal-getiing away from corporate America, getting our own little farm/homestead and being able to be home as close to full time as possible. That's why this blog was created. To post stories, advice, make friends, to learn and to share in the thing we call homesteading. Besides, it will make Momma happy, and we all know that old adage. So be free with your posts, nothing is really off limits, keep it relatively clean, and let's help each other.

Welcome to MY world. This is your blog. You can post whatever you want (clean, of course) and let others come and comment. There are a lot of great people here that will give you all the advice you need. You just need to ask the questions.
Love ya,
Wyndee

Hi there!
Just come over from Wyndee's blog to wish you well with your new blog. It will be great to read things from a male perspective as well as a female one so I look forward to coming back often.

Corporate America
My husband was in corporate America in Australia if that makes sense. After the IT plant was closed, well just before actually he was made redundant after a trip to the States and Canada. He worked in a material factory on the floor, he got the job quickly. After a long while we decided he could go back to teaching. That mean a move 2 hours south, we rented and kept our house until the contract ran out. Just before that happened we got a permanent job 2 hours in the other direction. We have been here 2 years, and sold our home, after buying this one, a few months after moving.
It is a remote area. We do miss our friends from corporate America at times.
This holiday which starts tomorrow, he will be spending 4 days at work helping out etc. so not much has changed huh?
I hope you find the time to blog some more. My husband likes some of the things you like.

Hey There - so glad your wife convinced you to set up your blog - now what do we need to do to keep you posting? LOL! We would love to read more and more from you! We need our homesteading (even if in the heart right now....) men, husbands and fathers to post and make us think and ask and share - hope you'll be blogging again soon!
Blessings to you and your family,
Harriette Jacobs
