I love herbs! As a matter of fact, those little fragrant pots of dill, rosemary, mint, and so forth are what first attracted me to gardening. Many herbs are very easy to grow, and will reward you with not only beauty and fragrance, but a tasty addition to your meals or in some cases, a home remedy for what ails you.
Dill is an herb that I always try to grow. I love the smell of fresh dill, and often add it to salads and veggie dishes. Dill butter is fabulous on fresh bread and it is also good on grilled fish. I make dill butter by taking a couple of tablespoons (or more) of chopped fresh dill leaves and mixing them into a stick of butter- simple! Dill is essential in pickle making, too.
One of my favorite "herby" places to visit, the Fredericksburg Herb Farm, has an article on growing dill in their Herb of the Month section. Check it out for planting advice, history, etc. Also, see their article on growing an herb covered garden path . That would be lovely!
Garden Blessings,
