Week 3: Making a Master Grocery List
One of the best master lists I took the time to create was my Master Grocery List. It has been one of the most valuable tools for kitchen and meal planning management.
A master grocery list is basically writing down everything that you buy! This sounds like a lot of work, and it is at first. But the organizational and time savings for this is worth every bit of time. I have my master grocery list on my computer so it is easy to access for printing.
To make a good master list you need to have a good idea of the meals you make and the foods you eat. You can break them down into categories to help organize them. On your list you can have “Meats”, “Dairy”, “Canned Foods”, “Beans and Grains”, etc… Then begin examining what you buy and list the foods under the proper heading.
Now when grocery shopping day approaches you print out your master list, circle anything you need, check the level of other supplies by going through the list of items and checking your pantry for what you have in stock and what needs replacing.
