Our HomesteadBlogger Featured Blogger of the Week is Rose Denson of Grandma RosieÂ’s Texas Home.

Rose lives in Granbury, Texas, and was a schoolteacher for 12 years until joining her husband as an armed Security Officer at a nuclear power plant. She is now at home where she is heavily involved with homeschooling her grandchildren, enjoying her loveable Labs, a spoiled cat, and three sweet bunnies. She loves to tend her vegetable, herb, and fruit gardens, and says in her profile that she hopes to have a small flock of chickens soon too!

I love visiting her blog every time she writes. It is a colored a regal shade of purple, and I draw much encouragement from her quotes and Bible verses she sprinkles on her blog each day. In between those solid writings, she tells us all about her family, recipes, and herbs. She also makes me laugh when she shares one of her funny stories or posts. My favorite posts were her sharing about joining the local Curves with her grandchildren for Homeschool P.E., her looking at caterpillars through her granddaughterÂ’s eyes, her humorous sharing of what was being said by the baby boomers back Â‘thenÂ’, and she officially stole my Irish heart with the Irish Blessing a few days ago.

Rose wins the DVD version of A Journey Home from Franklin Spring Family Media. It tells the story of the extraordinary path traveled by Tommy Waller, his wife, and their 11 children. This sensitive documentary spans TommyÂ’s journey from 80 hour work weeks to a remote community in rural Tennessee to the other side of the world. This DVD was the Winner of the Jubilee Award for Best Documentary at the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival.
