Train your pet. If Rover or Kitty is not respecting your property -- whether by chewing, tearing, clawing, or soiling -- you may be able to get the message across by leaving several onion slices where the damage has been done. Neither dogs nor cats are particularly fond of onion odor, and they'll avoid returning to the scene.
