Please pray for Kristi's family.
Kristi is one of my long-time blogging buddies and one of the few bloggers that I've actually met IRL (in real life).
When we first met, she and her husband were both juggling college classes, living on campus, and homeschooling their boys.
Then God opened the door for them to have their own little slice of heaven in Kentucky and I got to follow along the journey as they started a garden, built a chicken coop, and got their first flock of chicks.
And then just last year, God opened the door for them to make a HUGE, GIGANTIC move to Alaska.
And now, they are sadly making their way back to Kentucky because her father-in-law went into a coma-like state after a tick bite and today is being taken off of life support. You can read the update on Kristi's blog, she'll explain it better, but it is just totally bizarre - this man who has survived cancer and other health issues is dying because of a tick bite.
I looked up Ehrlichiosis online and found some information here. In fact a child in northeastern MO died as a result of a tick bite and now the state of MO has issued a tick warning.
Please, please keep Kristi and all of her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time. And do what you can to prevent tick bites on your family. I know that ticks are a MAJOR issue where we live, but I'll be looking up more information on ways to deal with them!
Blessings,
