Bake Whole Grain Bread for Friends, Neighbors, and Relatives Contest
=================================================================
According to a web search that took me to The Kansas Wheat Growers Association, Bake and Take Day began in 1970 in Sumner County, Kansas as a community service event.
The Sumner County Wheathearts, an auxiliary organization of the Kansas Association of Wheat Growers, wanted to share in the celebration of the harvest by encouraging members of the community to bake their favorite dish and share it with someone special.
The concept was so successful that the Kansas Wheathearts decided to create a national Bake and Take Day celebration in 1973.
Today, over one-third of the States commemorate the fourth Saturday in March by participating in Bake and Take Day.
Many state wheat organizations promote the “taking” of whole wheat and whole grain products with a contest where you tell what you baked, where you delivered it, and how it went.
We at The Urban Homemaker would like to promote the Bake and Take Day idea with our own contest. Here are the prizes:
First Prize:
Norwex Cleaning Combo - One Enviro Cloth and one Window Cloth - a $25.99 value
Second Prize:
Two Norpro 8” Bread Pans - a $15.90 value
