Follow these five ways to make a great and frugal Easter
2. Make candy and treats for the basket instead of buying them. If you like to give small toys, look for free printable games, puzzles and coloring pages on the internet. Family Craft's Projects by Theme is a good place to start. There are also lots of puzzles and booklets to print from Enchanted Learning.
3. Put your shredder to work making "grass" for Easter baskets. You don't have to stick to green - multicolored can be nice! Get it from magazines, catalogs or junk mail. Rough it up a little before using to give it "fluff."
4. Hams are on sale right now, so compare sales and get the best price and while you're at it, shop for other spring specials. Asparagus and strawberries, especially, are at their peak in the spring and have the lowest prices. Unless your family tradition demands otherwise, revise your Easter dinner menu to include less expensive items - whatever you find a good price on.
5. If you're dying eggs, make your own dye from frugal and natural foods. You'll already have many of these on hand, and some are made from the parts that you throw away, anyway. Have fun dying eggs this Easter.
Have a great day!!
