This week's featured blogger is Roberta from MyFarmGirlHaven. She is a homeschooling mom that lives with her family on an acre in a little rural town outside of Orlando in Florida. She loves simplicity and thrives on an easy and quiet spirit. She first joined us here in June 2006 and has been quietly journaling her homestead journey ever since. Her beautiful blog reflects the simple life and contentment that she cherishes so much.
I found lots of wonderful entries to share with you. Here's one on a Natural First Aid Kit and here's another on a wonderful perspective she gained driving down the road one day. And if you're like me and always enjoy a nice candle, you'll appreciate the ideas she had this past fall on using candles. She also has some tips on Frying Chicken that may be helpful. I think that it's an art myself.
Want to see a cute picture of her son with a chicken? Want to see her garden plans? I guess it's not too easy to grow things in Florida. And you can finish up by reading about her crazy goat babies. We think about getting goats sometimes and have mentioned that we're afraid our old fencing wouldn't hold goats in. One of our friends said, "Well if air can pass through your fence, so can a goat." Hmmm... guess there's no such thing as a goat proof fence.
And if you want to get to know her even more, you can visit her FarmGirlHaven website. It's so nice. And I really think that Roberta is going to enjoy the free issue that she's won from New Harvest Homestead for being featured blogger. It's chock full of practical homesteading information for enjoying a simple homestead life.
Happy Homesteading,
Nancy Carter
