Our Webmaster is Wonderful!
Posted in HomesteadBlogger News
If you just happened to have been on HomesteadBlogger Saturday afternoon around 12:00 central, you might have seen some disturbing Iraqi War Propraganda. Unfortunately our site was hacked.
Fortunately, I
just happened to be online when it happened and a few people emailed me to give me a heads up and our webmaster
just happened to be at home and handled the situation promptly.
Of course, I don't believe that things
just happen and I am very grateful that the Lord had the
right people at the
right place at the
right time. I'm so thankful that the problem was resolved quickly to keep people from being exposed to that image and language.
We apologize that any of you saw it and appreciate your patience as we worked to get it resolved.
Blessings,
~Nancy

Feb. 25, 2007 - Thankful!

It was fine one minute and I happened to click on my homepage and It scared me! I had to see if it was really us or not. I couldn't believe how quick we were up n running! Thank You to all who helped!
I also want to add that I've been praying for the person who hacked us as well. The hatred and anger that came from it. I pray that God would soften their hearts and free them from the destruction they cause. I pray they may feel TRUE FREEDOM through Jesus Christ.
Much love

Feb. 26, 2007 - Classic Hack Job

I have seen these kind of thing before, it wasn't necessarily this site that was hacked, it was the web domain (webmaster), for example, if they housed 40 different web sites then all 40 would be infected by the hacker...
Ay least it was kept to a minimum, I have seen them last a week...

Wow, I missed this. I wasn't online at all on Saturday. This is horrible... but good that HSB was on top of it all. I agree with you, Nancy... nothing happens by coincidence. All the people were at all the right places at all the right times and it was taken care of. Praise God... and thank YOU to HSB!!
Blessings~ Andrea
P.S. What does "Iraq propaganda" mean? Was it something like coming from Alcaida (sp?) or whatever?

Feb. 26, 2007 - The Hackers?

I don't know. It wasn't signed Al Qaeda or anything. It was just against the war, President Bush, and all of us in general. Had a picture of an injured Iraqi child and bad language. It was just sick.

Feb. 26, 2007 - There might still be some problems
Posted by vlcowley
Nancy,
I'm not sure this is the appropriate place to post this but I'm having a little trouble navigating
I'm still getting some strange warnings from my antivirus software every time I visit a blog on Homesteadblogger. The pages are trying to install a Trojan program, or so it seems. You might have your people look into this. I have already sent a message to tech support.
Last summer my wife's school website was hacked in the same manner that you described. Graphic pictures of what were suppose to be crimes committed against the Palestinian people. This happened several times and the authorities traced it as far as Turkey. If they followed any further than that, they did not tell us anything. We found out that we were being hacked through an open source calendar program we got through Sourceforge called ACal. I deleted the calendar program and the hacking stopped
Good luck getting things worked out.

Hi!
I am still receiving a virus message each time I try to view certain blogs here. Here's the address to the Norton Anti virus site I receive. It's called "Downloader" and they see it as a low level threat, but it's a major pain for me.
