LaVonne blogs with us from her Serenity Sheep Farm on 40 acres in the Gallatin Valley of Montana. It is 40 of the original 160 acre homestead that her husband's grandfather homesteaded. And LaVonne would be happy for you to call her a Woman of the Dirt. She and some other women in her area formed a wonderful group where they could share information about raising their own food naturally and the such.
Not only is she into sheep, crocheting, and the such, she also cooks on a wood stove! She loves her Flame View Wood Cook Stove and even shared a picture of it. Have you ever heard of Needle Felting? LaVonne is a true artist at it and has posted many of her projects. And oh just look at the Christmas in the Country Craft Show that she participated in. Absolutely gorgeous!
And of course since all of country life can't be gorgeous, she posted about her recent sheep shearing fiasco . Oh, and here's the link to the rest of the story. But just as her husband and her friend helped her get through the sheep shearing, some of her Tasha Tudor online friends really helped make her Valentine's Day extra special too.
Take some time to visit at LaVonne's blog and also her Montana Country Pickins website. She is a wonderful inspiration and I think she'll absolutely love Herrick Kimball's Deliberate Agrarian book!
Congratulations LaVonne!
