I'm seeing quite a few posts about gardening
. Wonderful! I'm in the midst of planning and plotting myself. A lovely way to spend a cold afternoon, don't you think?
OK, here are a few questions for you to answer. Post them on your blog and leave a comment so we can see what kind of gardener you are!
How Does Your Garden Grow???
What is your gardening style? Organic or "chemical" fertilizers and pest control? Organic all the way for me!
What planting method do you use? Square foot, raised beds, traditional single rows, wide rows, intensive plantings, containers, a little of all these??? We're going square foot raised beds, containers, and a few small lasagna beds.
Do you plan out your garden in detail, or just get out there and plant? I try to have a basic plan, but am more of a "think I'll put these here", kinda girl. Too many details and plans take the fun out of it for me
.
What do you grow? Veggies, Fruits, Herbs, Flowers....EVERYTHING!? I want to grow it all!!! Of course, time, space, and the amount of work my hubby is willing to do will influence that a little bit
What do you do with your harvests? Eat it all right away, share with friends and family, preserve for the coming months, sell it at the farmers market? We share with others, preserve some(I plan on doing more of that this year), and someday want to grow more and be "market gardeners".
What is one thing that you definitely will not grow this year? Pumpkins- they do not do well in our area, and the vines grow like crazy and you get few, if any, pumpkins and tons of "squash bugs" for your trouble!
What is one "must have" for your garden this year? Rosemary-I love Rosemary and all mine died last year
. Poppies are next on my list- love those, too!
OK, share with us just how your garden grows!
Blessings,
