The Future of Food DVD

Posted in Homestead Garden and Farm

One of my daily reads is the KS Milkmaid from Fuller Family Farm. She's been doing a 3 part series on the Farm Crisis in America and in today's entry she mentioned a video that sounds great - The Future of Food!

The description makes me not only want to buy it, but to share it with others. And purchasing it through the Fuller's helps to support their family farm!

Here's the description:

The Future of Food Documentary-DVD
$15.00

There is a revolution happening in the farm fields and on dinner tables of America, a revolution that is transforming the very nature of the food we eat. THE FUTURE OF FOOD offers and in-depth investigation into the disturbing truth behind the unlabled, patented, gentically engineered foods that have quietly filled grocery store shelves for the past decade. THE FUTURE OF FOOD examins the complex web of market and political forces that are changing what we eat as huge mulitnational copreations seek to control the world's food system. The film also explores alternatives to large-scale industrial agriculture, placing organic and sustainable agriculture as real solutions to the farm crisis today.

"Quietly inflammatory. Unsettling" ~Stephen Holden, THE NEW YORK TIMES

Fuller Family Farms is pleased to offer this film as a resource for producers and consumers alike. This film is absolutely riveting. Much of the information contained in the DVD is not available through mainstream media. You will understand the farm crisis on a new level and be motivated to become a part of this revolution by simply changing your purchases. Producers will be swayed to change their farming practices too. We ask that upon your purchase of this DVD, that you will commit to sharing it with as many people as possible. It is a solid scientific explanation of what is happening to America as a result of the farm crisis.

If any of you get it, let me know what you think about it!  I hope it encourages many people to grow their own foods or to support their local farmers.

Happy Homesteading,
~Nancy

Hey Nancy:
We watched "The Future of Food" back in the summer. We rented it from Netflix. I would encourage everyone to see it, too. It's eye-opening to see the vastness of our industrial food supply. There are two discs in the set so specify both if you rent it. I also noticed it for sale at Whole Foods this week. Thanks for raising the level of visibility on this important film.

I followed the link to the Kansas Milkmaid's online store.....she is selling the DVD at a great low price. Whole Foods had it for $25. Christina is selling it for $15, and the soaps are a great price, too. I loaded up for teacher gifts at church!
