What kind of accent do you have?
Posted in Tech Support
Here's another fun quiz to take that I found on Amy's
Journaling Back to Joy.
Now these results actually surprised me a bit since most people comment
on my Southern drawl, but I suppose my English and Public Speaking
teachers would be proud. Even though I've got a definite Southern
drawl, I actually do know and am capable of enunciating words properly
when needed!
Now y'all go take
the quiz and let me know what it says about you!
| What American accent do you have? Your Result: The Midland "You
have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an
accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern
Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for
all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big
southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV
and radio. |

I had to give this a go and see what it said about me. Apparently I am from Boston! Strange.....I wonder is Boston close to Castlederg, Co.Tyrone, Northern Ireland?!! Does this say something about Boston's past and Irish emigration?

No surprise here. Southern! Ya think? Is Texas actually the south? I know my accent is different from my friends in the deep south.

Honey, ALL my ancestors just rose up from the grave and died all over again!!!!!!
That quiz said I was from the Northeast as in New Jersey or New York...gah!....I think it was jammed or something........
Now I know how to properly enunciate words - but I still manage to polish them off with a lingering at the end........just ask Eleanor - she'll tell y'all I am not from the NE.
And yes, Grandma Rosie Texas is part of the South - but y'all have your own extra special "accent" over there.
;-p

Ok I think the thing was broke, lol. It said I was from Boston. LOL LOL. I am so far south I'm almost in the Gulf. I have been told that I dont sound like a regular Cajun, but I must be, cuz I understand everything they say. LOL

Oh my goodness - Inland North!
I evidently have a very Southern drawl to everyone here in FL (well, all the northerners anyway, which is mostly what FL is but that's another story!) so I am very surprised at the result.

I took the quiz and learned I have a Western accent. Living in Montana, I'm not surprised! It was fun.

Well it says that I have a "midland" accent... my parents are from Kentucky. I live in Arkansas and have lived just about everywhere BUT the midland... soooooo....
As I was answering the questions I just knew it was going to say that I was some redneck... so it was a complete surprise to have that answer. This was a fun quiz.
