Posted in Homestead Garden and Farm
Thanksgiving is almost here! We really do have so very much to be thankful for, don't we?
The blessing of having a garden or farm is a wonderful thing. Even my little container gardens at our apartment have been a source of joy and a blessing to us this year.
I encourage you to take a break from your holiday preparations some time this week, and take a walk around your homestead. Just look around and remember all the blessings that you've received there this year. I'll bet you will be amazed at what the Lord has done for you! As the old hymn says, "Count your blessings, name them one by one..." If you have a garden journal, write them down!
Rosemary is known as the "herb of Remembrance". I think this year our family is going to purchase a small Rosemary to use as the centerpiece for our holiday table. The children will decorate it with fall leaves or some of our other treasures we've collected from outdoors this year. On Thanksgiving Day, we will all talk about the blessings we've received this year. We will take this little plant with us when we move on to a new homestead, as a reminder of what the Lord did for us here.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
