Here is a quick and easy way to keep your apples white. This is an especially good method for drying apples.
Slice apples widthwise. I don't skin or core them. Place the slices in a solution of 2 cups water, 2 TBS. lemon juice and 1 TBS. ascorbic acid powder. Leave the slices in this solution for at least 10 minutes. Then dry, or use as usual.
