Wednesday's Question
Today’s question is not really a question – it’s more of a “finish the sentence” and here it is:
I never in my wildest imagination thought……….
……that we (the Jacobs Family) would own 36 acres and be able to build our house. NEVER – no never. I didn’t even think we would have ten acres - maybe 5 at the most. And while we are surrounded by farmers that own hundreds and hundreds of acres – our little 36 acre tract is our hundreds! And though it took us more than three long years with a number times [me] wanting to give up, God has blessed us and I am eternally grateful to Him – our being here on this land is a testimony to His leading us here and nothing else. He deserves all the Glory!

I never in my wildest imagination thought I would be happy to stay at home and be a mother and wife. I grew up being told that I had to work outside the home to be fulfilled and finally after 27 years I have realized that I am perfectly fullfilled here at home.

That I would enjoy "homesteading". As in living life the way my parents had to. All the times my mom was trying to teach me to can, garden, cook from scratch, ect.... I was thinking to myself, "no way am I gonna do these things when I grow up!"
But now since I have a little land, 3 1/2 acres, I am enjoying learning(shoulda listened way back when) all the things to help me live off my land, raiseing my own animals, and learning to make the things I need for my house and family.
It is so rewarding and such a great feeling to be living this lifestyle.

would I have thought that I would be a homeschooling, homestead blogging, homestead dreaming mom/wife. I have been dreaming for years about living in the country, but never about homesteading. I have begun to garden, which has has been, I thought, somthing old ladies do. lol I know that isn't true. I have learned so much from all you fine ladies about the homesteading life that it has become my desire for my family. Instead of just living in the country. I want acres upon acres of food grown by my hand. I want to know my food and my family and homesteading is it!
