One of my favorite things to do is research our family’s history and genealogy. It is a fascinating hobby and past time and I have learned much since I began my research in October 2002. I love to include family when we are studying history to make history more personal and also to try and imagine what it must have been like for our ancestors living before modern conveniences (no electricity, no running water, no automobiles……). Hard as I try to become a farmer and homesteader – I really don’t have a clue how hard it was to live then and more days than not – it is all too easy to come back inside and get what I need out of the refrigerator!
Just this past winter/spring during some of my research, I discovered a line (or branch) in my family tree that were wheelwrights (they made the wheels for wagons) as well as numerous and numerous “farmers”. Unfortunately, it didn’t take too long for my family to unlearn how to farm…..yikes! One of my husband’s cousins married a great guy who grew up on a farm that has been in his family for about four generations. While he is not a farmer here in

How many families here at HomesteadBlogger are next generation farmers or even better – multiple generation farmers?
