If you came into some money and could do one new thing to your homestead, what would it be?We would invest in really good fencing ~ something that would hold cattle, sheep, goats, horses, etc... So far we only have chickens and an old horse because although we have plenty of space and a nice pasture, we just have an old fence. Enough to keep a content old horse where he's supposed to stay, but not enough for most animals. There are so many times when we are offered really great deals on animals, but we have to pass on them because of our fencing situation.
There are lots of things we'd like to do on our farm, but I think we'd start with good fencing!
What about you?

I think all small farming families will agree on this one - fencing is such a major factor and major undertaking - we are not great fencers and must rely on having someone to do it. Our upper 26 acres needs clearing and fencing would the number one $$ project - then a major livestock barn.

Well, at this point it would be to actually BUY a homestead. LOL Fencing was an issue where we lived before, too, though. But yeah, fence is useless without a place to put it. So I'm still going with my original answer. ;)
