My son told me this story recently when I was giving him a little "frugality" lecture. You may have heard it before, but it was new to me and it DID make me laugh!
Did you hear about the penny pincher who was dying? He was lying on a hospital bed in his room. "Is my wife here?" he asked. "Yes." they assured him. "And my son?". "Yes." "How about my daughter?" "Yes, she's here too."
"Then why is the hallway light on?!"
