This week's Featured Blogger lives nestled in the shadows of Mt. Washington in NH with her daughter Hannah. I love how she describes her life as a journey home - closer to God, closer to family, and closer to the land.
You can follow along as she plans and watches her garden grow. Valarie starts by making a list, then drawing out her plans, and then gives updates on how things are growing. I love it when someone journals the practical parts to homesteading!
She recently shared her family's agrarian vision. It really is a beautiful story of how they've gotten to where they are now. Robert Frost's quote definitely rings true for not only Valarie, but for so many of us.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
-Robert Frost
Valarie shares plenty of other good information as well as inspiration. She shares what herbs she is growing, as well as their health benefits. And she also has many wonderful recipes. Her Amish Vanilla Pudding Friendship Bread sounds absolutely delicious!
As our Featured Blogger, I think she'll enjoy the wonderful gift tin of teas from Ripe4Harvest.
And maybe if we all go over to visit, she'll tell us about why her blog is named Sisyphus Acres, I didn't see that anywhere and I'm just kind of curious. So, thanks for blogging with us Valarie. We're glad that you're taking the road less travelled and sharing your journey here with us at HomesteadBlogger.~Nancy Carter
