We have dark green carpet in much of the house (nice to look at, but shows dog hair and dirt from outside way too easily), linoleum that looks like wood floor in a few rooms, and white tile in the bathroom.

Great feast... we used to white vinyl in the kitchen and bathrooms and it showed every single speck of dirt. After a decade of cleaning it, we finally ripped it out and put in brown ceramic tile - yeah, can't see dirt any more! :)
