Happy 4th of July to you all!
I hope your holiday is filled with good things: family, friends, food, can't forget the fireworks!
Since it is a holiday and I have family and friends to tend to, and food to cook, my post today is rather short and sweet.
"Gardens are not made by sitting in the shade." Rudyard Kipling
What a true statement. Though, sitting in the shade and admiring the fruits of your labor is a well deserved blessing after a day spent toiling in the sun.
Here's a little tip for giving a plant a bit of shade if need be:
If you have a plant that is getting a little too much sun, take an old umbrella and stick it in the ground near the plant to give it some relief. Though a temporary solution, it will help during those hot, hot, hot days, and can be easily moved to another location when you need to use it elsewhere.
Remember to shade yourself from the sun, too. A nice wide brimmed hat will be a good friend in the garden. Be kind to your skin!
Again, I pray your 4th of July is a fun-filled and safe holiday.
Be back next week to discuss proper nutrition for the garden!
Garden Blessings to you and yours,
Catherine
