Welcome back to the HomesteadBlogger Front Porch. I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself before I pull up a rocker and start snapping beans and chatting.
My name is Melonie Murray, and I recently joined up with HomesteadBlogger to provide you with some tips and ideas for bringing more organic and non-toxic products and resources into your home, and onto your homestead. A common misconception about organic items is that they are incredibly expensive or difficult to find. Thankfully, this is becoming a myth as more companies "go green" and offer green versions of traditional products.
Going organic or living green is in the news a lot these days. Whether you're concerned about saving energy, conserving water, keeping chemicals off your lawn (and the feet of your pets and children!), or just generally want to better educate yourself about green options, I'll be here for you. Each Friday I'll pop by the Front Porch to give you a heads up about green companies in the eye of the media, interesting articles about alternative energy or organic farming, and reviews of products I've tried myself. (Be forewarned, I'll be blunt. Whether I love it or hate it, you'll know. But maybe it'll help you make a better judgement call as to whether something is worth spending your hard earned cash on!)
For now, leave me some comments here on the HomesteadBlogger Front Porch. Tell me what "green" issues you struggle with or want to learn more about. Feel free to visit me on my own little cyber-homestead, Going Green, as well!
Next Friday, we'll tackle biodiesel. I'll have links to articles about this alternative fuel and some opinions too. Til then, happy homesteading!
