Thanksgiving Favorites ~ Cornbread Dressing
OK, in my Texas home it just wouldn't be Thanksgiving without a big pan of cornbread dressing. I know many of you make other types of dressing or stuffing, and I'd love to hear all about it. 2 years ago a friend even brought oyster stuffing to our house ... I don't think I want to try that one again any time soon (an acquired taste perhaps)
!
In the interest of saving time this morning I'm going to just give you the link to an article I posted earlier about Sage, the cornbread dressing recipe is included there.
Even if you don't have time to post your favorite dressing/stuffing recipe, I'd love to hear what type you make!
Blessings,
Catherine

I currently live in the Northwest, but the South is my home. And that means, stuffing just ain't stuffing unless it is cornbread!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE cornbread stuffing. And...I call it stuffing, even though it's actually dressing (a discussion we had on Sandy's blog at Suburban Simplicity) because I don't stuff my bird.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Patti

Nov. 24, 2009 - Cornbread dressing

My mother-in-law makes a wonderful cornbread dressing. It's basically sauted onion, bell pepper, celery & garlic with lots of butter. Then you mix it up with some crumbled cornbread, a couple chopped boiled egg, a bit of turkey meat chopped, all mixed up with spices & turkey stock. It looks a little soupy. Then it's baked for about an hour until set. Delicious!!!
