Thursday, May 15, 2008~ Another Trash To Treasure ~ |
We have had a interesting week here at our place. The kids and I worked on cleaning up the back porch, to make it inviting to sit out and take in the splendors of spring.
The most fun I had was turning this drabby microwave cart I had come across sitting outside of a dumpster while on my way off post to run errands. After giving it some careful inspection and seeing all that it needed was a splash of paint, I snatched it up and took it home.

I did a quick run over it with the sander and then my children and I each took turns painting the cart with the left over paint I had from the China Cabinet we re did.
Once finished it was placed in the corner out here on the back porch, it will serve as our own personal center to house nature , gardening and bird books. Inside the cupboard I have placed bug spray, candles, and currently a blanket for when it gets a lil chilly from the evening.

Do hope you have enjoyed my tid bit of a recent Trash to Treasure project, what items have you come across lately that were once considered trash have now been given a second chance at being Gems |

What a wonderful idea and nice family project! I like the thought of having my birdwatching books at my fingertips, but alas no porch! Anyway, I enjoyed your creativity.
Sincerely,
Sharon

It looks adorable!!! I can't believe the transformation a good coat of paint took on that cabinet. Thanks for sharing photos. You have inspired me to make some treasure out of someone else's trash as well.
God's Blessings,

| Wonderful job on the cabinet! Isn't it rewarding to take something that is "junk" and turn it into something beautiful! I can't help but think that's the same thing CHRIST has done for me in my life!:) |
