Wednesday, May 14, 2008~ A Few Of My Favorite Old Things ~ |
I thoroughly enjoy anything that is of old, especially items that are passed down through the generations. So without further ado, here are a few of my favorite old things.
( Yep I have that Christmas tune in my head)

This adorable little doll actually belonged to a late step grandmother of mine, it had been hers as a child and I believe it had also been her own mothers at one time. She is made of felt, and her interior stuffing is of crinkled brown paper. I have her pictured here with Mary's Lamb to keep her company.

This here are 4 of the 6 children my late grandmother had. The two Oldest boys were in their teens. My mother is the last girl on the end. I just love old pictures, I believe this was taken in 1949-50(oops I think I am giving away my moms age.lol

These are 3 books I had bought from a Antique Store in California last summer.
The Titles are: Children's Occupations copy right:1920
Today's Etiquette copy right: 1924
Gems Of Poetry copyright: 1885( this one is in a very fragile state and must be handled with care)

These old wash boards were given to me by my mother and I believe they belonged to my grandmother or great grandmother. I have them on the wall next to my own modern washer and dryer.

Lastly is the lamp I had purchased recently at a Antique Fair we had here in town. The Giant Book that the plant is resting on is a Websters 1904 Dictionary, we had been using it for our home school lessons to look up words but its getting so fragile that I have decided to host it as a "plant stand", with a doile my mother had given me, that she herself had for a very long time. The two books you see are copies of Jane Austin books, Pride and Prejudice and Emma. |

Hey,
Thank you so much for checking in. So far praise the Lord he has been clean now for almost 3 weeks. We are praying and trusting the Lord to help get us thru each day. You and your family are in my prayers as well. |
