TGIF!

Ahhhh, today was exactly what I needed!  I love my little suburban 'stead, but working from home and homeschooling means that I'm more than happy to have some time away from it too! 

This morning the Little and I headed up to a local lake with the Husband-to-Be and his coworkers for a family day.  There were people everywhere, enjoying the gorgeous weather and the many activities that had been set up.  I'd say a good couple hundred families took advantage of the spread and enjoyed roast pig, rotisserie chicken, potato salad and all the fixins.  The Little got to meet several new friends and I did too.  Best part was a boat ride around the lake, where we all saw several adult bald eagles and even a juvenile swooping over the water.  Canada geese wandered over several times while the girls stood near the water trying to "fish" with a youth pole and sticks.  (They caught some serious chunks of seaweed!)

As I write this, she's still outside with the Man and my best friend, running in the sprinkler and playing with the other kids.  Something tells me we'll all sleep well tonight.

The best part about creating a happy home is leaving and being glad to come back to it.  What a great day!

Sounds like a great day...where'd y'all go ? Spanaway Lake or ? Don't forget to email me the POB the girls have letters ready to go ! :)
