....I read this quote somewhere and thought it very interesting. But is it possible to "live a lovely life"  amidst every day life, laundry, sick kids, sick friends, shopping, cooking, cleaning, paying bills, wars,economy fears, folks losing jobs, etc?? How do we live a lovely life in such a fallen world?

Well,  there is not better place to search for answers other than the word of God.  So I sat down and wrote out every verse that God showed me pertaining to this question that I have deemed...."question of the week".  I want to ask questions of God and then see what he shows me through studying his word.  So this is what I received from Him this morning...

Philippins 4:8-9..."Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.  Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me-put it into practice.  And the God of peace will be with you."

Psalm 84:1-4..."How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty!  My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.  Even the sparrow has found a home and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my king and my God.  Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you."

Deuteronomy 30:19-20..."This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses.  Now choose life, so that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him.  For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob."

Deuteronomy 6:1-2..."These are the commands, decrees and laws the Lord your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the Lord your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life.  Hear, O Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the Lord, the God of your fathers, promised you."

I just had to put these few pictures in because this morning when I was searching the scriptures for this post, Anika and Tianna came upstairs and wanted to know what I was doing.  I told them and they also wanted some scripture to give to Audrey as I promised I would email her scripture verses of encouragement and verses that God had given me for each day during this journey she is on.  So my girls got out their Bibles to help search the scriptures for Audrey.  I thought to myself....:now this is what the Bible means when it says..."Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up..."  Deut 11:18-19

P.S.  We  had about fifteen verses that I wrote down, but obviously too many to put on one post:-) God is so good!

Holy Cats! Your getting lots of snow while we are having our snow melt with freezing temps. Makes for a nasty ride home the past few days.

I LOVE the family time looking up scriptures. To me, THIS is what brings a family close. I pray and read and look up scriptures with my husband.....It has strengthened our marriage.

There is nothing more intimate than reading and teaching your family about Christ our Lord and the promises He's made.

Talk about living a good life. *smile* To know that your children are willing and able to look up things in scriupture to encourage others. That is a real treat, in my eyes. *smile* I am so happy for the blessing you have received of children who enjoy looking in God's word for answers. *smile*

p.s. Thank you for making the time to stop by to say hello and for the well wishes for the week. I am trying to read through the bible in a year (my first time completeling if I can stick with it) and have joined a group who is also doing so. This requires that I journal/blog about what I have read each day. I try to do it right after I read and then I try to add a personal ... what I am up to... entry later in the day. It takes me an hour to read the five chapters (so far anyways) and our son gets up at five in the morning so after my hour he is done being quiet. *smile* Stop by any time though and check things out. *smile* Blessings.
