Yes, it's true I have discovered two wonderful things this week...

First, I just finished reading the most amazing book ever.  I know, some of you will think..."she always says that when she posts about a book she has read" (wow, that's a lot of "shes" in one statement)....well, it's true I love reading great books and they all are the "best" one.  But this one was so good, that I ordered two from  here.  This book has revolutionized my way of praying and approaching God...the book radically changed my thinking on "God wanting to be loved by US". My mom gave it to me when I was visiting this Fall. She said I could borrow the book...but she also ordered another one.  So I was able to keep it.  The pages are well read and the binding is falling apart, so I thought that I should order a couple and keep one to loan out.

This book was so good that I have decided on January 1st, 2009 I will be having a "Giveaway".One lucky person will receive a copy of this book. (as soon as it arrives in my mailbox) It will change your life forever. And what a better way to start the New Year, than changing the way you approach God...who by the way is the King of King and Lord of Lords...and YOUR Father.   But more on the giveaway later.  Afterall, can't very well give something away that I don't have yet.  But it's on the way to my house as I type!  So check back and I will give more details on the giveaway.

Now, on to my second discovery....while reading a great book, one must have a comfy place to read...a great cup of tea/coffee...a quiet place in which to read  and a wonderful "treat" to go along with the atmosphere that I have just set up for you.  Well, I have discovered an amazing treat for you to enjoy.  It is a  Pumpkin Streusel cake from over at Gloria's blog.  This cake was so delicious that I made it Sunday afternoon and by Monday evening it was gone.  And now the troops are asking for more...what is a girl to do?  I'll just make another one for the freezer.  This way it will be safe for Christmas.  So go over to Gloria's blog and scroll down to Dec 7th and try this  recipe.  You will be pleasantly pleased and your tastebuds will thank you.  

**In the recipe it calls for 1 cup of sour cream...I only had about 1/4 cup so I added buttermilk to make up the difference.  It was still amazing. 

**Also, on the second piece of cake we each had (while watching the hockey game), I added whipped cream and a little sprinkle of nutmeg.  Oooohhh lala~

How funny, I was thinking of bringing a dessert along with a dish to pass for Christmas Eve brunch to my Parent In Laws and this sounds like it's a good fit for everyone.

What an awesome book too. I have been reading some fiction books lately just to rid my mind of everyday stresses. I've enjoyed reading and have enjoyed your list of recommended books which I'll have to add to my reading list.
