Daily Thoughts

WEll, here we are another Monday.  Life seems to whiz by - there are new encounters and the closing of chapters all around us.  WE are busy here learning to sheer our poor angora goat who has owners who are clueless :)  We have 44 baby chickens chirping away in our shop and growing daily stronger.  We have two roosters which my youngest is learning to hold and love  in order to show in the fair.  WE have a garden that needs some TLC and plants to be put down in the soil.  We are trying to end this year and figure out what we have accomplished - the things that went well, the things that we grew in because of God and His infinite plan and those plans that have had to be adjusted because we got in His way again!

May you have a blessed day today!

Blessings,

Flossie

Monday, May 19, 2008 - Angoras

Posted by borderling
Flossie,
My honey made a goat milking stanchion and I used it to shear my Angoras. It worked pretty well. Did you know that you shear from back to front when you do the back? That's about all of the wisdom I have for you. I ended up using my hair scissors because I didn't get the heads I needed for my shearers. I think I'll order some hand shearers for next time. Maybe by then I can afford the shearing heads. The fleece came out better than last time. Nice and white and no manure! (Just a lot of hay chaff. :) )
From Glory Farm,
Rhonda
