Chicken Coop Building - part 1

See full size imageOur big push for 2009 is to finish our chicken coop.  The girls have been escaping and nesting in trees!  Yikes - it makes it fun to find our eggs :)

  • So far they have poured the concrete
  • Found out we still need more - lol

Stay tuned for more!

My sister and I used to have about 50 hens and we sold the eggs. We had to get the coop ready and fix the fence. It's a lot of work, but the eggs sure look nice and healthy! Good luck!

I will sure need to be checking back with you on this...do you have photos to share. We have been thinking about getting chickens, but unfortunately, we have nowhere to house them...and not sure how to build an inexpensive coop (if there is anything as inexpensive).

Hey Connie
We got a great book called "Backyard Chickens" that has information and some simple pictures. The eggs are the best and when we buy store bought, we can definitely taste the difference. As we finish I will post more stuff.

About Me

After searching the world for the answers, I am learning to slow down and trust God. Life can be so simple if we just trust Him. I am a Chistian wife married to the man of my dreams. I have 3 children and live on 3 acres. We are not quite homesteaders but we love learning! I see God's kisses everywhere and hear His laughter roll through the air. Come along as we live life one day at a time.
