
We use "The Story of the World" as our springboard for History. We are using book 4. Today we learned about Krakatoa Volcanoe and it's eruption. We then researched and learned more about volcanoes.

Building your own Volcano ( from Story of World, book 4 - pg 38)
Materials
-
A piece of Cardboard (about 12x12 inches)
-
A paper towel roll
-
a re-sealable plastic bag
-
tape
-
newspaper
-
aluminum foil
-
1/3 vinegar, use a few drops red food coloring also
-
3Tbsp. baking soda
Directions
-
Tape paper towel in center of cardboard
-
drop plastic bag into tube and cover tube
-
Crumble sheets of newspaper to look like rocks. Create a mountain
-
You can cover the nespaper balls with aluminum (we didn't have aluminum :)
-
You can paint the aluminum as an option :)
