The Funny Farm

Well, as the summer is here, we are trying to say no to things - many are good but it is important for one to refresh the soul.  I am reading a book about a Woman's Journey to God's Heart and in it, it talks about that in order to minister to others, you need to spend time alone with the Lord.  This is so true.  Also, we need to slow down and be.

We made homemade ice cream the other day - how much fun and so good.  My kids had not had this before and were so excited!  I think I may have killed the engine but we will see... I thought it would take long to mix and freeze, so I left it on the porch running while I swept and mopped, about 20 minutes... I came back outside to see flames coming out of the engine.  IT was done!  Ice cream was good :)

We have been busy all week trying to put together furniture we purchased at IKEA.  My husband has his office out of the house and until now has had all kinds of furniture - non of which kept the room organized.  We purchased cabinets and have been putting together for the past few days :)  I know it will be awesome once done!  He really needs a place where he can be refreshed as he works so hard for his family.

Hope you had a great 4th of July - Independece Day!  My oldest asked us why we celebrate the 4th - yikes!  He is homeschooled - need a parent teacher conference - lol!
