Last week we were picking up our chicks and Caleb was watching the Geese they have there. There are 2 of them and they are too cute. He said something about using his money in his piggy bank to buy one. Then the lady there said buying 2 is best because they don't do as well alone. So we were talking and knew that if he wanted to do that he'd need at least $14 just for the geese. I was sitting here and realized I had put a couple rolls of change in his piggy bank awhile back. So I called him to me and asked b4 opening it, "How about we use whatevers in here to buy the birds you want." He agreed and I'm sure he still thought it was just a $5 bill and maybe a bit of change. He found out we had $20 in there along with rolls of pennies. So a total of $24. We figured it out and he can buy the 2 geese and 3 ducks with that. Then daddy and I would buy the food, feeder & waterer. He's excited now we just hope we can do it this weekend when dh gets paid. It all depends on the paycheck. Mow my question is this. We ended up with meat maker when I asked for chick starter/grower. Can I just feed the ducks and geese this and get the other stuff I thought I was getting for my chicks?? If anyone knows please let me know, I"m cringing all week that its not what they should eat. And my chicks are eating it now. Seem to be fine. But I don't want it to harm them in the long run. It says its for 0-8week old birds but I'm a little nervous with all this being new.
